au where tommy's limbo is what happens during sbi rust, and after the fact he doesn't remember it at all. he says his limbo was like a void because he doesn't want to mention that he doesn't know what happened. but pieces of it start flowing out slowly.

like, maybe he sees a crossbow and his instinct is to call it a gun. maybe ranboo falls off a tower and he immediacy scrambles to hide the flesh that remains from tubbo. maybe when wilbur asks for stone, he's hit with a wave of deja vu. maybe he decides to start a religion based mlm, not truly sure where he got the idea. maybe, as he hits the opening chords to piano man on the church piano he had installed, he's filled with a sense of happiness and belonging, and he just can't understand why.

maybe he longs for a world that he was taken from too quickly, even though it was never anything more then a fantasy.

I'd like you to consider

• Phil isn't really the most present father, to put it lightly, and isn't really there like 90% of the time

• so Wilbur ends up basically raising Tommy

• and one day, Will gets tired of the neglect, so he takes Tommy and leaves

• they go off to a distant land called, fuck I dunno, the kingdom of rust or some shit

• Tommy doesn't take the change well, so Wilbur gets him a gift to try and distract him a bit

• it's Will's favorite guitar

• Tommy loves it, and learns the Wii shop theme immediately because of course he does

• This could potentially be where they meet some of their friends from the smp, or maybe just people that are similar, I haven't decided yet

• during their time there, they pick up some skills

• Wilbur learns some mechanics and craftsmenship, making weapons for himself and Tommy and having a big passion project of constructing a van completely from scratch (yes it's the camarvan, it's my personal canon and I do what I want)

• Tommy learns to play the guitar, and becomes impressively skilled at sewing

• it's a fun life, but it's dangerous

• so one day, Wilbur decides that he and Tommy should move somewhere new

• he has Tommy go ahead of him, so he can get everything with their old home sorted

• from here, the plot plays out pretty much normally

• though, Tommy does still keep the guitar in his ender chest

• he can't bear to get rid of it, even after Wilbur's betrayal

• but he can't bring himself to play it, either

also I may or may not be working on an au where instead of dying, Will goes back to his and Tommy's old home to get his shit sorted, and comes back with his sanity and a glock that he's not afraid to use on a certain green man
