I found a way around the symbol problem, but it’s SO SILLY AND TEDIOUS AND I want to know how to fix it with code but my brain is done. -____-

     he was tired and it was too late for him to be out and about on a school night, but like that seemed to stop him at this point. with his mom working the night shift it made it easy for him to stay out without notice. despite the tired feeling washing over him, his bike didn't lead him home. the male had wandered his way to a familiar, tall building that he proceed up to then was guided by the elevator to his destination. the metal door opened to the proper floor as he commenced to walk towards the only door he had ever visited. her father was out, searching for information just as they had been, but more importantly it meant he wouldn't receive any odd looks or questions for arriving unannounced at such a late hour. his nerves seemed to kick in as he reached the door and he suddenly felt bad for coming here so late. what if she was asleep? he didn't want to wake her, but where else was there for him to go. he needed...someone. a single digit connected with the door bell as he could here it chime from where he stood as he waited patiently for a response.
