Beautiful New L'oreal Colour Riche Shades for Spring/Summer!

L'oreal's Colour Riche range has always had a great creamy and pigmented texture, but it hasn't really been synonymous with fashion-forward colors.

They did try a couple of years ago but didn't quite succeed in delivering on the beautiful shades promised in photo-enhanced publicity images. Most of the shades stained the lips badly, were a lot duller and nowhere near as bright as the ads showed, and contained weird chunky glitter that did nothing but feel odd on the lips.

I was VERY happy to see the new range, but these don't seem to be available at every counter yet and I'm hoping it's not an Asia-exclusive because these babies are GORGEOUS.

Meet the 3 that I totally recommend:

Wild Tango (acidic coral with a slight pink undertone)

Touch of Amaranth (gorgeous reddened fuchsia)

Pink Retro (true medium pastel pink)

Wild Tango (Pearly texture) is quite similar to Milani's Mango Mambo, but it goes on with a hint of pink undertones despite how orange it looks in the tube. If you want a bright coral lip but aren't quite brave enough to go full-on orange, this might be one to check out first. Despite L'oreal listing it as Pearl finish, the pearl is really almost invisible to the naked eye. There's a slight luminosity, but no shimmer.

Touch of Amaranth (creme) is the fuchsia for girls who like a touch of red in their pink. It's bright, but not electric, so it's a great option if you want something stronger for the office or daytime. That's not to say this isn't a great shade for a night out! It's completely beautiful and rich enough to hold up against darker skins. 

Pink Retro (iridescent) is the shade that drew me to the display in the first place. If you want something Barbie-esque but not too chalky or blue, this is a great creamy shade reminiscent of MAC's Pink Nouveau. L'oreal classifies it as an iridescent but there isn't any obvious pearl either. Again, if you have very dark skin and want a drugstore pink that doesn't look too white, this is fab.

All 3 shades are VERY pigmented; the 2 pinks more so than the coral. In fact, I'm so impressed with Touch of Amaranth and Pink Retro that I'm ready to kiss L'oreal and forgive them for the abysmally dismal coral and fuchsia (with the pointless chunky glitter) that they put out with the last Colour Riche release.
