I've had my blog for a similar length of time :P I'm just a person like you so yeah, I don't know if I deserve fangirling type reactions haha.
I've admired your blog for such a long time, you are truly an inspiration to me. So in my mind, you are definitely deserving of at least a little bit of fangirling, even if you are just another person scrolling through tumblr :)

How is your friend going? Is she conscious? Will she become conscious soon if not?
Thanks for your concern- she's doing much better and definitely continuing to improve! She's been moved to our state's university hospital where she's doing well, and, according to her father via facebook, "She is showing more signs of responding, she is mostly breathing on her own, and they expect her to be ready for a non-ICU room soon" (and that was posted last week).
More recently, she's much more alert and showing more signs of waking up... She's been "writing" (illegible, but some letters can be clearly identified) when given a pen and paper, and also according to her father, "when Shane [her boyfriend] first handed her the pen the tip was facing her- not the page. Jessica turned the pen around by herself and positioned it in her left hand properly before writing- without getting any ink on her fingers."
She still has a long way to go with her healing, but she's being incredibly strong and has made a whole lot of progress already. :)

Even though I'm not religious, it always warms my heart when I'm going through a hard time and someone tells me they will pray for me. It really does mean a lot that people care enough to do that for me.
