For me, this book rivals the #ThroneofGlass series and I’d highly recommend it if you enjoyed those or epic fantasy in general. Last Girls has a unique and palpable suspense that will have the readers hold their breaths or clutch the armrest or send their minds reeling. (At one point I just wanted to grab a popcorn because everything was so suspenseful!) Do you have a favorite story you love retellings of? For me, that's Alice in Wonderland. 🐇 I'm always looking for new Alice in Wonderland retellings in any format. In early 2019 I heard of an off-Broadway show called Alice By Heart that caught my attention and I was able to go see the musical performed on stage and it just took my breath away! 🎶 The music, the staging, everything about it was Wonderland reimagined! 🇬🇧 The story takes place during WWII bombings in London and Alice and her friend Alfred take shelter in the tube station with a variety of other people - who then become the characters of Wonderland. When I heard there was going to be a BOOK of my beloved musical, I knew I had to pick it up! This book is the stage adapted to words. I highly recommend listening to the #AliceByHeart soundtrack, its on all major streaming platforms. You can listen to the soundtrack while reading this - I noticed the correlation between the songs and some written words in here and it made me smile. But oh how I love this story. My only regret is seeing the show only once. This photo didn't come out exactly how I imagined it but I'm still happy with it 🕰 Tay helped me take this back in February when I visited her new apartment - and this setup just worked so well for the photo. Do you know of any #AliceinWonderland retellings I should check out? QOTD: What's your trope in a book? . We all know that the enemies to lovers trope is superior in my book, but friends to enemies to lovers has that extra flavor and we love to see it. . . And apparantely, that's what Starry Eyes is! Friends to enemies until they get stuck alone on a camping trip! Cannot wait!
