This time of year always feels really special. January and February have the tendency to feel like a bit of an interim. The year doesn’t feel like it’s really started and you’re just continuing. Then all of a sudden flowers start appearing; snowdrops, lesser celandine, wood anemones, daffodils… It’s the same feeling I get when I wake up before sunrise but you can see its milky light filling the air.
