Azriel was the sole owner of the Rosehall ink studio located in Velaris
He was notoriously known for his artistry. People would wait years to get inked up by him
His craft and eye for detail was unlike anyone else
He was also a really intimidating looking guy. He had this dark aura always surrounding him.
His wardrobe consisted of black long sleeved sweaters, leather jackets, distressed jeans and boots.
He had piercings on his bottom lip and eyebrow. Tattoos lined his arms, back and chest, covering his multiple scars.
He was a quiet guy, mostly kept to himself but most people in the area knew him. He was pretty famous thanks to his well known brothers.
There had been a building that had been left unoccupied since he first open shopped and didn’t think much of it when it was getting renovated.
When wildflower bloom open up from across him he didn’t think much of it until he happened to get a glimpse of the owner through the floor to ceiling window.
She was breathtakingly beautiful. Braids adorned her hair with flowers littered across the silky bronzed tresses.
The sunlight practically formed a halo around her as her long summer dressed billowed.
He felt like he was staring at light personified as she water the numerous hanging plant at the front.
Their eyes met all of the sudden as she glimpsed across the street. He watched her hand lift in a friendly wave. His eyes widened and he let out multiple expletives as he literally ducked down behind the window from embarrassment.
Fuck fuck fuck fuck! He thought. How was he such a royal screw up? If she didn’t think he was a weird creep before she definitely did now.
He didn’t know how long he stayed crouched behind the window until he heard someone clearing their throat from the counter.
He banged his head and got whiplash as he sprang up suddenly and there she was in the flesh, in front of him, a sheepish smile covering her face.
He didn’t think his cheeks could burn any redder but he was wrong.
“Hi there, I just wanted to introduce myself since we are going to be neighbors now, I’m Elain.”
He continued to stare at her dumbfounded. His mouth refused to weave words. She arched her brow at him in amusement.
“And you are...?” He let out a cough and forced air out of his mouth.
“RIght... right.” He said as he ran his fingers through his dark lock, making it more disheveled. He tugged at the neck of his sweater.
“I’m...um...Azriel.” He gave her what he thought might be friendly smile but as he caught site of himself in the reflection it looked more like a grimace. Jesus Az, couldn’t you do one thing right?
She let out an airy laugh. “Is that your final answer?” She teased. “You sound unsure.”
He forced himself to let out a laugh which sounded grating even to his own ears. Save this. He thought to himself. Everything was going up in flames.
“At least I think it is unless what my brothers have been telling me was a lie.” He joked back and his shoulders relaxed a little as he tried to salvage this horrible first impression. She let out another tinkering laugh.
“See ya round then, Azriel.” and just as quickly as she had breezed in her she breezed out.
“Yeah, see you.” He said to the now closed door. He banged his head on the counter, trying to wake himself up from this horrible dream but nope it was reality.
A couple of months had passed and Elain continued to wave at him every morning. She even left him a note and a small succulent at his doorstep, saying it reminded her of him. He hadn’t been able to get rid of the goofy smile on his face after reading it. He’d kept it the note in his office and the succulent on display on the counter.
Whenever his brothers came around the shop they ragged on him so much. Giving him shit at opportunity, mocking the stupid faces he’d make whenever Elain smiled at him.
They tried to get him to ask her out on numerous occasion but every time he worked up the courage to talk to her he’d say the wrong thing.
He thought back to the time when he asked her if she liked cheese. He face palmed even now
It was one, late, rainy night that changed everything. He was about to close up when two sodden, drunk girls walked through his door. This wouldn’t be out of the ordinary if that girl hadn’t been Elain.
“Azzz.” She dragged out, giggling as she saunter up to him.
“Hi.” He said a soft smile on his face as she stood so close to him that he could see the small smattering of freckles across her nose.
“This is my sister, Feyre.” She made wide motion with her arms. “Fey, this is my Azzz and I’m Elain.”
He was fighting back his laugh. She was too adorable for her own good.
“We are here for tattoos, well actually I’m here for one, Fey already has some and I needed moral support.” She rambled, fighting the wet strand, sticking on her cheek.
“Do you do walk ins?” she giggled again, practically leaning on him at his point. He shifted uncomfortably because the clothes sticking to her body weren’t hiding much. He had a no walk in policy and the fact she was also tipsy was screaming bad idea but her sister, Feyre, seemed sober enough.
“I suppose for you I do.” Shooting her another soft look which Feyre caught and had her grinning from ear to ear.
“Great!” She said excitedly, clapping her hands. She fumbled to get her phone out of her pocket, swiping through images she practically struck him in the face the device once she found the image. It was small sprig of lavenders.
“I want it right here.” She said as she lifted her shirt and showed him his sideboob. His cheeks were flaming again.
“Right.” He said, running his fingers through his hair and motioning towards room where his tools were. She practically swayed her way in there.
He stared at Feyre, wondering if she was coming in since she was her sisters support. “I’ll stay out here, don’t want to crowd your craft.” Though her words said one thing her face said another
Azriel’s cheeks were a constant beet red. He steeled his nerves and walked into the room.
He found Elain already had her shirt off and was lying down waiting for him. She seemed to be humming a song to herself, completely relaxed as he tinkered around, getting the needles ready.
He rolled his chair up next to her mentally prepared himself to touch her skin. He usually never liked doing his tattoo freehand but he didn’t have enough time to prepare a stencil for her.
He wiped down her skin and even though he was wearing gloves he could still feel the warmth and softness. The first prick had her gasping and biting her bottom lip as she screwed her eyes shut. He didn’t like that she was in pain, it didn’t suit her upbeat personality.
“You okay?” He asked gruffly, stilling his movement. She nodded, shooting him a dazed look.
“Don’t stop now.” She said despondently. He tried not to focus on the side of her boob and the amount of times he’d brush it but he was still a man after all, who had a dropped dead gorgeous client on his chair.
It was so hard for him to keep his hand steady. He was glad she had only asked for a tiny dainty lavender which only took a couple of minutes, minutes which felt like long torturous hours to him.
“All done.” He told her. She seemed disappointed when he said that. She sat up and peered at her skin. She let out a squeal.
“I love it.” and threw her arms around Azriel. “Thaank yooou so muuch.” She slurred.
He ducked his head in shyness. “I hope you don’t regret that in the morning.”
“There is no way anyone can regret you in the morning.” She replied saucily. God damn alcohol made her bold.
