Hello :) I'm writing you firstly because I LOVE your illustration of the fat mermaid. I love it because I love mermaids, and I'm a fat girl myself. :) I also wanted to tell you that I used the image as an avatar on my art inso blog, misandristmermaid, and I credited you in the description, but if you'd rather I didn't do that, I'm happy to change it back. THANK YOU! I’m so glad you like the illustration, and thanks for reaching out to me! Yes I’m totally cool with you using my illustration as an avatar. As a general guideline, I don’t mind people using my work in ways that don’t make them money. So avatars, backgrounds, all that is fine. I tend to draw the lines at stuff that generates an income or counts as marketing, like album covers, advertising, that kind of thing.

But seriously, I applaud you for speaking about (or even caring about) foreign affairs. It's rare that young people would even educate themselves about world issues, and the fact that you've taken the time and thought to formulate your own opinion and then stand for it.. That inspires me. Keep using your voice, even if you can only whisper. :)

Thanks so much! I know we are all reckless teenagers and that we are supposed to party and study and think about boys and blah and live like these are our last days but I just think we can not be totally oblivious to what is happening in the world. I don't want to hurt or insult any specific group of people. But I am just so sick of pretending that I don't care but I just had to write that.
