my head canon is that Nate meets someone completely new (post-finale), and he connects with her unlike anyone he dated in the 6 seasons of GG. i think it takes longer for him to find her, but he does eventually. another note-- for some reason i really liked Serena and Colin as a couple. it felt right. and the way they broke up was so different from any break-up on the show. they left each other on good terms! and i feel like... they would meet again later. and drama with Dan ensues. idk
i think josh schwartz said that nate actually ended with taylor from the oc ;). well, to me they wouldn’t go together because she has... what i call a blair-side, she’s all crazy and all over the place but whatever, he did say it. leaving that -joke- aside, yeah i do believe that’s what happens, he focuses on himself and his life and at some point meets someone new. i mean i would like a jenny/nate reunion, it could be a story, because i feel like it could have been more explored, but i don’t think getting back together with serena (or sage, bree, raina, elizabeth,lola,or whatever ) could work.
serena needed to work on her own issues as well... but she didn’t. she jumped from one boyfriend to another and ended up marrying fucking gossip girl... i think she should have ended up alone, doing something with her life, just like nate. it is what her character needed. so i mean if she leaves dan -and idon’t wee a happily ever after for dan and serena... she’ll probably get married many times like lily, she’d need to try to stay ingle and not start dating someone else -namely nate for many fans)
yeah i liked colin and serena’s relationship. it could have worked... i mean serena was still lost -i mean serena was ALWAYS lost- but they were both learning from their mistakes. (and lmao serena chose to take advice from dan to make her relationship works like??? the guy wants you back?? and he was a huge asshole about it as he always was because he’s so much better than everyone else and i’m sorry i always seem to end up getting frustrated with something when i speak about dan because everyone still considers him the good guy. and i’m still typing way too fast for my keyboard so i’m very sorry if some words or letter are missing
