I was dropped the news about Carbine Studios and WildStar being let go.
My immediate response was to come home and hop ingame, listen to the music I’d always adored, and while I wanted to hop on down to Thayd, I can’t seem to leave Silas’ plot and her ship. This will always be a special game for me, because it’s the one that gave a vague character I had in Guild Wars actual flesh and depth. Silas was made a whole character through WildStar and the people she met in it. And honestly, I can’t thank you folks enough for it. I’m going to miss the world and setting sure--but more importantly I’m going to miss being able to hop into a game where I got faceglomped for simply being on ( ;) ) and for the awesome rp you all gave me.
My thoughts and inevitable end for Silas were always going to be that she got The Eostre ready for long space travel and finally made good on her promise to Tam to see the stars and what very little was left unknown with those that she was closest to and wanted to come along. So, while it’s sad to say goodbye to this facet of her, I’m happy to have parts of her continuing in other games such as GW2, and more recently WoW (Belf Mage Privateer, anyone?)
Because airships.
