Actually buying food was still a novel experience for Chuck. He preferred doing it with Becky, but if he had to go alone, he still enjoyed it, because he’d sort of made friends with the one of guys who worked at the grocery story. They only made small talk, but it was nice. It made him feel like he was getting the hang of this whole ‘human’ thing. So, when he decided to go and buy real ingredients so Becks could do her baking, and he saw Legoshi stacking shelves, he headed over to him and smiled.
“Hey, man,” he said. “How’s it going? Slow evening?” He knew, from their conversations, that Legoshi needed extra friendliness, to respond, so Chuck really heaped on the ‘happy-go-lucky’ persona when they talked, the super friendly, excitable, guy he’d tried to be when he’d first hung around with Sam and Dean after he was ‘out’ as God. People liked that guy, and it wasn’t really a facade. It was a part of him now.
