Storyboard artist Dan C Kubat, except for the post-it Dragaunus that doesn't appear to be attributed to anyone but claims to be a production sketch.
I decided to make this noir detective art with Wildwing and Duke.
In the original "Puck Fiction" episode, they were just sitting behind bars. But I always wanted to see an alternative universe where they go undercover and handle the crime syndicate themselves. Two leaders, loaded guns, and total chaos. The real Bad Boys.
How do you like this badass detective duo?
It has come to my attention that Mighty Ducks: The animated series is 30 years old this year
I don’t think TMNT makes me feel old because the comic came out when I was 2 so it has just always been part of my life
But MD:TAS… oof. It had a hold on me from 1996-200? Something. It and the fandom got me through so much they don’t even realize. I will always be grateful to the best worst B-Rated Cartoon community ever!
So, her name is Turbulence DuCaine. And she checked all the boxes that make a bad OC. But she was a stepping stone. She helped me learn to write, helped me learn to draw, gave me an escape when things were not good. There will always be part of me that has her in my heart.
More ducks for Whumptober because this show practically fills the prompts itself. Day 6 has medical restraints as one of its prompts so what the hell, why not. Also an outraged Wildwing. Both were inspired by the episode "The Human Factor".
Random Headcanon #9!
Wow, two in about a week, lol.
This one centers around color theory with the main characters. There's two characters who fit specific colors for specific reasons and that's what we will be talking about here.
I believe much of the fandom has agreed that burgundy, teal, and purple are major colors of Puckworld, or at least they have a big meaning in the culture since different characters have different colors. Even by what they wear in the very few times we see them in their normal clothing (not hockey attire) the clothing matches the colors.
The Flashblades, before and after the Invasion started, wear this particular green/teal color as a dominant part of their attire. The type of green it was categorized as was "Pantone Green" which can have meanings of growth, revitalization, and harmony, to name a few, while "Teal" has balance, uniqueness, and emotional equilibrium. These are actually pretty interesting in the world of colors for the brothers because prior to the Invasion, they weren't anything but civilians, probably around 15 and 19 when everything started, which for them meant they lived in a harmonious environment while having balance in their lives. Once everything got flipped and they ended up on Earth, they both went through their own versions of growth as Wildwing went on to become the leader via metamorphosis and Nosedive grew into the soldier role. They're both pretty unique in that they were able to slip into these roles with no prior expertise, especially with Wildwing becoming something at the drop of a hat (or Mask in this case) and Nosedive only being a teenager.
Moving on to the next; Purple/Lavendar that Tanya and Mallory don.
It seems that on the Purple spectrum, Lavender is the closest name for this color and it's more feminine (yes this was also Disney of the 90's, but let's keep going).
Lavender itself means femininity, tranquility, and grace but it's also associated with things like higher purpose, purity, spirituality. Obviously they're both female, but they both have their own definitions of the word "femininity", as Tanya doesn't believe in the traditional means of it such as how Lucretia DeCoy did and even says that "mind over beauty" is a better option. Mallory on the other hand is about a 50/50, as she is usually more military attire related but know she does tend to dress up in the traditional roles from time to time. Tanya is a scientist/inventor while Mallory is with (what seems to be) the highest of the military ranks Puckworld Special Forces. Those both in themselves have higher callings, especially when the Invasion happened, but continued even after it became a more one on one on Earth.
Last but not least, Grin and Duke with Burgundy.
These two are certainly interesting in their own ways, due to their pasts as a "bad egg" and an ex-thief. The Burgundy color brings it out moreso; Burgundy's meaning centers around sophistication, wealth, power, and ambition, not to mention things like elegance and maturity, sometimes even professionalism.
A lot of that seems to fit Duke, not just from his name but from what he used to be, a jewel thief who (most likely) ran the Brotherhood of the Blade. He's also the self-proclaimed "most seasoned" of the bunch, meaning he's the oldest. Though he is an ex-con, he appears to be very sophisticated and polite in many ways, which is something you wouldn't expect of someone who used to be a thief.
Grin, on the other hand, matches the color itself in that he himself is power, even if only in a physical sense. He also has matured from his past through Enlightenment, which we have seen many times with how he speaks and acts, acting as a defense rather than offense quite a few times unlike in his past.
This...is actually going to be cut off here. There will be a second part to it, which will go a bit further into the colors and whatnot, but I hope this was at least a bit interesting to read about!
Continued!
Perhaps the comic is on pause
Reason: I need to complete several scientific projects. I may post a few more sketches, but I cannot promise
Class of Heroes - Beck Flashblade
Beck - Wildwing Flashblade
Beck isn't a hybrid, rather they are a anthropomorphic duck from the planet Puckworld. As such they were surprised to find that the hybrids of the school weren't fellow aliens but instead from Earth.
Their family is involved in extraterrestrial government and they were sent to the school to make a good impression for the other species.
Beck's the big bro of the school, being a senior student and showcasing the others how to be a leader and heroic.
They feel the pressure of living up to everyone's expectations and can put a bit too much pressure on themselves to excel at everything.
Beck is a whiz at hockey, since they played a similar sport all the time on Puckworld.
QUACK! Beck is the final piece of the recess class! Thanks to Weeby as always and make sure to reblog and reply to Class of Heroes. @booksrbetterthanpeople @msweebyness @nerdy-chocomallow
