the only ‘coles’ in the main series being will and dick cole in the golden company is really funny mainly bc men in the golden company can take any name they want, often extinct great house names, but cole isn’t a great house there’s only one relevant cole ever meaning it seems to be a conscious reference to criston specifically. funny ass name to take in the putting a targaryen bastard line on the iron throne club he’d hate that
