Latest Google Panda Update Favors Video, Big Brands, Google Properties
Amplify’d from searchenginewatch.com
Will Google's latest Panda update get the attention of the antitrust investigators given the boost it gave their own properties? Are Google search results becoming just a list of big brands?
These are just a couple of the questions being asked following the Panda update made late Wednesday last week. The changes were first noticed by Dani Horowitz on Friday morning when the analytics for the previous day were posted in to her GA account for DaniWeb.
Daniweb, the programmers forum with over a million members, had been hit by Panda back in late February and had worked back through changes made on the site. The new Panda update knocked the site back to where it was after the first update despite the optimization work done.

Social Media
There is more then enough room for everyone..............
Amplify’d from thenextweb.com
I frequently get questions like these: “Is Google+ going to kill facebook like Facebook killed MySpace?”
The answer is “no” but not because Google+ isn’t going to be hugely successful.
Services, technologies and companies never kill or replace each other. Some companies just don’t keep up with customer demand, stop innovating and then might fade away. Television never really replaced radio because radio had its uses and was a solid technology. The Internet never replaced television for the same reasons.
Facebook didn’t just replace MySpace because it was better but mostly because MySpace was much worse, and didn’t seem to do much about it. The only one to blame for the decline of MySpace is MySpace itself. You don’t lose 300 million members without making a few enemies.
There is enough room for several social networks. Facebook, LinkedIn and Google can coexist just fine just like two bars in the same street don’t have to kill or replace each other to survive.
Will Google+replace Facebook?
No, but maybe Facebook will fall on its sword and give Google+ a chance to take its place.

Will Google+ beat FaceBook?
Amplify’d from myinternetcorner.com
My main question now is….”Will Google+ be able to beat Facebook?”
It might be still too early to tell for sure if Google+ would be able to beat Facebook in terms of popularity and user base. However, I see that Google is moving to the right direction with Google+. They sure learned a lot from Google Wave failure. I mean Google Wave is cool, but it’s too complicated and impractical to use for a non-techie person. I can see how Google Wave technology could be developed into something great in the future, but in its current state, I don’t think it’s gonna go anywhere.
On the other hand, I can see a great potential already in Google+. I have been using Google+ for about 2-3 days now and I think Google+ could beat Facebook, for several reasons:
limit/control to whom your post/updates will be shared with
Easy access from Google.com
invite more than one people in a text chat
audio chat with your friends
several people to quickly chat over the phone
Lastly….Google+ Hangout. I
simultaneous video conference chat with up to 10 people
My point is that Google+ is a purer form of social media platform. Its focus is to connecting people and it does that very well. There are still minor glitches and improvements they could do to improve Google+, but overall, I’m very pleased with it.
Now…if you are not a Google+ member yet, you now have the chance to get an invitation. How? Very simple. Since I made this as a closed-invitation now, I need your participation on this. As I need to raise money to fly back to Indonesia, I will send out a Google+ invitation to whomever chip-in for my plane ticket. Any amount will do, so if you were only able to chip-in $5…that’s fine, but if you were able to chip-in $10…that would so “uber” awesome Just click the chip-in button below and MAKE SURE you put your Google account email address where the invitation will be sent to in the “Instruction to Merchant” box. I appreciate your generosity. Thanks!!!
