I just feel like a lot of people ignore the fact that a lot of the detractors of John Green are people of color (for good reason) and women (for good reason)

Not to mention, I just rly don’t like the rhetoric of “if you dislike this you probably haven’t read it” like....John Green is required reading in a lot of places. I had to read tfios for one of my college classes. I had to read Looking for Alaska back when I went to Blake. 

Like, I guarantee a lot of people who shit on John Green probably HAVE read at least one of his books.
