MY WILL SOLACE HEADCANONS:

he has the absolute SOFTEST blond hair but ONLY lets a certain son of hades play with it

most people don't know he's from texas, but when things get rough in the infirmary his southern accent comes out so strongly even his fellow CAMPERS can't tell it's him

he was voted camp half-blood's hottest male blond of the year (jason was DEEPLY offended by this revelation)

during a blackout last summer chiron FORGOT to replace the emergency torch batteries so will was forced to crack his back MULTIPLE times during the whole ordeal and walk around like a fucking GLOW STICK

WILL SOLACE HEADCANONS BC I'M REREADING THE PJO+ BOOKS AND HE'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTER

- no, he doesn't really like fighting with weapons. he CAN, however, kick ass in hand-to-hand combat. he grew up queer in fucking TEXAS you cannot tell me that he hasn't gotten into at least six fistfights

- that being said, i DO think he can use a shotgun bc again, texas, but also i think apollo's archery skills also translate to guns. he didn't inherit the bow skills but he's good with guns

- since he looks so much like apollo [canon] they get confused a lot. yeah apollo is proud of this, despite after ToA appearing as lester [with gold roots for his hair, though]

- will doesnt like using his plague powers a lot bc they make him nauseous.

- he likes lindsay stirling. i have no reason for this other than i like projecting and he gives off that vibe

- obviously, he hates snakes. refuses to walk in dry/rocky areas without tough hiking boots bc he grew up in rattlesnake territory

I will never be able to decide between the headcanon that Will can sing and is musical, he is just either very shy/has severe stage fright or genuinely doesn't believe so because of his siblings talents, and the classic one where Will really wasn't joking when he said he's not musical and his skills extend to very shitty recorder covers than stun monsters or something 😭

Oooooh yes!!!  I totally see him as the type who loves to learn, with a specific interest (obviously) on medical related things. Like more than just being one to learn everything about the medical field, he wants to add to it as well.

Taking Nico’s shadow-fading thing: I’d like to think that even though he tries to keep Nico from shadow-traveling at first, he’s smart enough to know that setting restrictions like that isn’t a sustainable solution.

So he spends forever just researching how to help Nico. Because apart from being heavily involved in actual medical procedures, he loves researching and learning. He’s more than just a doctor, but also a researcher. 

He helps Nico slowly but surely work on shadow-traveling. It starts with small trials across Camp, maybe every other month. He makes Nico rest up a lot before and has things like unicorn draught on hand right after, but he uses these opportunities to also study what to do in worst-case scenarios, where Nico uses his powers and starts fading because his body isn’t expunging the shadows. I see a lot of fics portraying Will as very headstrong and pushy on Nico, and while I do agree with some of it, I think Will’s personality from what we have seen would mean that it would make more sense for him to trust in Nico to know his abilities while providing a sort of underlying guidance, only really speaking up firmly when Nico’s pushing himself too far.

But a n y w a y s, back to the Ravenclaw energy; I think the only thing that wouldn’t match is the competitiveness that some Ravenclaws exhibit. In that case, Will would probably take more after a Hufflepuff, mostly because while learning and growing as a person and in the fields he is passionate about is one of his goals, he also clearly wants to be able to help people and doesn’t think himself above others (everyone is equal thing IG??? IDK).

Dkjfhkjfd that’s all really. Sorry anon I just got really excited by this; but yes! I firmly agree Will has major Ravenclaw energy!

Oh my gods y e s (cue me writing up a bunch of random HC’s because I love this so much):

He chooses the most obnoxious looking one because it’s large enough to be practical even though it’s annoying to carry

His friends have tried so hard to make him get something a little more aesthetically pleasing but he refuses

He covers it in all of those cheap stickers you can buy in like 100 piece packs for five dollars

*cough* Star Wars? Star Trek? Space child *cough*

He also buys a new one every year, but has a stack of every single one he ever owned below his bed because he has an emotional attachment to them

Nico found them when he was helping him clean the Apollo Cabin and Will spent the next hour arguing why he needs to keep them all

His planners have seen hell and back because he’s clumsy/not that careful with them

Think coffee stains, water damage, scribbling courtesy of younger patients finding them, pages falling out…

One time he lost his planner and nearly tore the whole damn Camp apart for it

The Stolls and Lou Ellen had teamed up to take it as a “psychological experiment”

Will was fully ready to commit manslaughter over it

He really loves his planners though

He’s super forgetful, so it helps to write down simple things like his friends birthdays or chores he had to do in the Cabin

He also likes to write things in a list because he loves to be able to cross things off

That’s why, along with his planner, he always buys a shit-ton of multicoloured pens

He also tapes in important things into the pages, so it’s all the more reason to keep the planners

He’s got ticket stubs from all his mom’s concerts, as well as different photos and letters

He likes to look at them when he’s a little homesick

He kept the receipt from his and Nico’s first date

Nico saw it and was completely flustered the rest of the day

“Don’t even talk to me, you dork. Why are you so wholesome?”

Another headcanon:

Will’s nails grow super fast and he hates it because he doesn’t like having long nails. It’s not any demigod thing that’s just him.

(The Aphrodite kids love to paint his nails, but they gotta be quick before he cuts them like every week)

One headcanon that I use a lot in my fanfictions:

You know the Aphrodite rite of passage that Drew talked about in the Lost Hero(?).  I have a headcanon that Will was who she did it on, breaking his heart for the sake of it.

I also like to imagine that they used to be friends but then when Drew did that Will kinda has a grudge against her too for purposely breaking his heart.
