Dionysus: Are you and extrovert or an introvert? I’m both? That’s an ambivert, right? I love being by myself and being at home because of my chronic fatigue, but when I’m out I can be very extroverted for a long period of time if I’m in a comfortable position to be extroverted.
Centaur: Last book you read? Wow. I...actually don’t remember. I kind of gave up reading books to read fanfic instead. But I think it was “Norse Mythology” by Neil Gaiman that I started reading before I got distracted. (if anyone is interested, the last fic I read is a modern Pride and Prejudice WIP fic which is Mary/OMC by @strangelock221b, and it’s fantastic...chapter 3 just came out today and she teased chapter 4 coming out today as well. It’s called Falling Like The Snow and I urge everyone to read it)
Lyre: What are your top three favorite songs? Oh, this is so hard. Probably “bad guy (PatrickReza Remix)” by Billie Eilish, “Heathens” by twenty one pilots and “Make It Bun Dem (Unholy Remix)” by Skrillex & Damian Jr Gong Marley / “Naked Eye” by Luscious Jackson as a tie for third (all the links lead to YouTube).

So as a part of my new job I’m actually involved in the hiring process sometimes and help interview people, which is hella weird, so if you ever wanna do a mock one or want someone to look over emails/responses, hmu.
OK, can you answer me this quick really specific and really navel gazing interview question......
the interview yesterday was for a job with no official start date so when they asked if I had any questions, I asked what the start date would be. It seemed to rub them the wrong way and they responded that there would be a second round of in-person interviews where they would fly me in and have me do a teaching demo if I made it to the next round. They said they didn’t know what the start date was going to be because they were waiting for the perfect team to be built and they had flexibility to wait till they had found the right people.
So. Did I offend them by just like assuming the interview was the last step and asking about the start date? Does that make me seem pompous or was I probably imagining them being vaguely offended by me asking the question that way?
I saw the guinea pig comment and this was all I could think about.
I can only be grateful it was not my class that decided to have Bring Your Guinea Pig to Class Day. They’re adorable. Don’t get me wrong. But not adorable enough to be called into the principal’s office for.
