What Will wants

When I saw Abigail’s lesson from Hannibal, It was , Ah, moment for me. Why Hannibal wanted to torture Will? Why he did that?

Will was like a genie in the bottle. He made everybody’s dream came true so far. Alana always are looking for romantic relationship and Will felt it, so kissed her. Jack always wants to catch a bad guy, which Will do. Hannibal wants Will to be interested in him, and Will fell into love with him. All things are not Will wanted. It’s not a right way to live. Where’s Will Graham’s life? Where he can fulfill his own needs? Will wants life as others - the usual life, with family, life without other’s influence, can say with his own voice,  no, say I love you, I want to follow you everywhere, do whatever you want but still we will love you etc etc.

Let’s back to Abigail’s lesson. Whatever you are, you will be accepted by me. So, be proud to yourself, right? That’s not only for Abigail. It’s for Will. Hannibal trains Abigail because she is the example for Will (Hannibal always have double, triple or even more motives behind, so yes. Abigail is a chain to bind to Will to him, and also, Hannibal was lonely. He had everything in his life except family and companionship), to show Will he will be accepted even he turned into the monster he feared. Isn’t it What Will wanted?

Hannibal is the devil. He also has a power to dream come true. He secured Margot’s money and needs for an heir, and Alana’s longing for romantic relationship and vengeance, Chilton’s desire to be famous, Jack’s wish to find insane criminals (minor copy of the fascinating Chesapeake ripper) in his own twisted way. Why not Will Grahams? Will was lonely, he wanted a family accepts him unconditionally. Hannibal created it for him. (Yes, and that’s also hannibal wanted, too).

So far, Will never said no that well to anybody(Even to Molly. Molly wanted to him go to catch the bad guy who kills happy family), except Hannibal. Even at the first meeting, Will said no. I do not find you interesting. Mid-season final, Will said No to Hannibal. If you want to say no, you have to know what you want. in other words, know yourself. Hannibal was/is giving him the power, like he did to others, in his own twisted way.

Will said he was only clear when Hannibal arounds. So far, he is the only person Will can say no. Will knows - maybe unconsciously first, and later, with his own experience - he is what Will wanted, just like others, the person who loves Will even Will said no to him - and treats him like normal, what Will wanted so log. Hannibal knows it too. That’s the reason he picks up family and talked about it, and finally, he said, family helps each other. Hannibal did all for up to the point Will finally knows what he is, and how to protect him from other’s desire. Even the help is unorthodox as much as he did for Abigail’s lesson. 

He is a good, damn good psychiatrist. 

(btw, I love the idea Hannibal being the devil make all wishes come true. It’s like a fairytale. It’s perfect match to Season 3′s Hannibal’s narration.)
