Put On Your Raincoats | Superware Party (Margold, 1979)
I suppose Bill Margold being an actual porn performer and at least initially presenting himself as a dork are mitigating factors, but directing a movie where you give yourself a sex scene with Seka and Jennifer West and turn your character into a cool cigar-huffing dude who has sex with tons of women is a total bozo move.
As an SOV production shot with fairly basic camera setups, I would not call this a stylistically sophisticated piece of work, although there is a dissolve, a questionable wipe video effect and music playing over the proceedings. None of these flourishes are well done, but they are flourishes. I suppose the shot where Seka puts on her stockings in front of a mirror is not an unsexy image. I should disclose that I watched this on a super blurry VHS rip that likely downplayed some of this movie's technical virtues (and is probably not conducive to prurient enjoyment, if you watch these things for those reasons).
Especially with the runtime, there isn't a lot to this, and I think it's kinda lame that music plays over the straight sex scenes and even more lame that the lesbian scene is truncated. But I did not find Seka and Jennifer West to be unpleasant presences, and I laughed when Bill Margold spilled coffee on his pants. So there are things to enjoy here.
