Faculty Recital :: CIM's Preucil & Kosower Present an Evening of Beethoven, Kodaly & Dvorak TONIGHT!
Cleveland Institute of Music string faculty (The Cleveland Orchestra members) William Preucil, violin, and Mark Kosower, cello, are joined by guest pianist Jee-Won Oh tonight for a chamber music recital in Kulas Hall.

CIM Alumni :: Yun-Ting Lee joins The Cleveland Orchestra & Alexandra Preucil is promoted to Assistant Concertmaster
Congratulations to Cleveland Institute of Music alumni Alexandra Preucil and Yun-Ting Lee on their recent appointments with The Cleveland Orchestra. After five years with The Orchestra, Ms. Preucil has been promoted to assistant concertmaster while Mr. Lee is a brand new member of The Orchestra's violin section.
Ms. Preucil and Mr. Lee epitomize the exceptional artistry and dedication of CIM graduates.
Violinist Yun-Ting Lee earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from CIM, where he was the recipient of the Dr. Bennett Levine Memorial Award in Chamber Music. His principal teachers were William Preucil, David Cerone, David Updegraff, and Dr. Phyllis Skoldberg.
A Grand Prize winner of the Phoenix Symphony Guild Young Artist competition and a Winner of the Music Academy of the West concerto competition, Mr. Lee also was a semi-finalist in the Washington International Competition. He served as concertmaster for Spoleto Festival USA orchestra and has collaborated with members of the Juilliard, Cavani, and Tokyo String Quartets.
Mr. Lee has appeared as soloist with the Phoenix Symphony, CIM orchestra, and Music Academy of the West orchestra. He is a member of CityMusic-Cleveland orchestra, Canton Symphony, and is an alumnus of New York String Orchestra Seminar, Holland International Music Sessions, Encore, and Pacific Music Festival.
Violinist Alexandra Preucil joined the violin section of The Cleveland Orchestra in October 2008. Ms. Preucil graduated from CIM with a bachelor’s degree in music. She studied with her father, who is also the concertmaster of The Cleveland Orchestra, and with her uncle Stephen Rose, principal second violin of the Orchestra. She spent two years in the Young Artists Program at CIM, during which time she was concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra.
While in school, Ms. Preucil held the position of assistant concertmaster with the Akron Symphony Orchestra and the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and was second violin of the Svantio Quartet.
Ms. Preucil has appeared as soloist with the Georgia Philharmonic, Highland Park Strings, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and the World Cello Congress. She has performed at summer festivals including the Festival der Zukunft in Switzerland, Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival, Music from Angel Fire, and the Mainly Mozart Festival, as well as the Young Artists programs at the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival and the La Jolla Chamber Music Festival. Ms. Preucil participates in The Cleveland Orchestra’s PNC Grow Up Great program.
