Liam Smart was a mess. The only things he had going for him at the moment was his bartending job at a mid-range club in London and his little sister Angela asking him to be her Man-of-Honour for her wedding. On the negative side of the whole man-of-honour thing, Angela and her fiancée had to fly to Prague for Angie’s work, which meant that they would be missing at least a month of important wedding preparation. 

This tragedy led him to make a post on Facebook looking for a friend or even a friend of a friend, someone, to fake being his fiancée for some of the things on Angela’s check list. Which is how he found himself at a cafe next door to the cake tasting shop that Angie had listed as her top choice. He was waiting for a girl who had answered his plea and who didn’t seem crazy.

William ‘Liam’ Smart  

Liam is a huge nerd for Disney movies and musicals in general

He hopes to becomes a designer one day

Liam’s sister is married to/getting married to a princess

Boone has never gone by his first name, it is a tradition in his family

Despite being very quiet, Boone is very comfortable with his sexuality

Boone is very obsessed with science fiction, specifically Star Wars, Doctor Who, Andy Weir and Orson Scott Card

On This Day in History June 19, 1910: The first celebration of Fathers Day in the United States took place in Spokane, Washington. The event was created by Sonora Louise Smart Dodd in recognition all Fathers, specifically her own Father William Smart. 

According to page 218 of The American Patriot’s Almanac by William J. Bennett and John T.E.Cribb:

Sonora Louise Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, came up with the idea of a day to honor fathers in 1909. Her own father, William Smart, was a Civil War veteran whose wife had died in childbirth. Dodd thought about the difficulties her father had faced as he struggled to raise his six motherless children on a farm in eastern Washington, and she set her mind to honoring all fathers. She approached local churches, and on Sunday, June 19, 1910, Spokane ministers celebrated the first Father’s Day by reminding their congregations of the appreciation fathers deserve and the duties fathers owe to their families.
