The Role of an Artist
Question of the week: “What is the role of an artist?”
I believe that the role of an artist involves so much and it’s hard to contain all aspects of an artist. An artist is someone who creates, explores, designs, imagines, and constructs. Artists look at and consider things around the world, whether they be simply ordinary things or brilliantly unique things. They create a story about them, change them, or extract emotion from them. They add and take away. They shape and mold. They weave and paint. They hammer they chisel. They mix and organize. But at the end of the day, an artist is really just portraying thoughts, images, colors, emotions, sounds, and shapes that were designed by the first and superior Artist - the Creator or the world. We are all artists and we all reflect our Creator. He designed all of us with imaginative and creative minds. So what has God called you to create? What kind of art were you born to explore? What’s going to be your role as an artist?
