The Changing Face of Brooklyn
Here are two views taken nearly forty years apart: downtown Brooklyn as seen from Grand Army Plaza, looking down Flatbush Avenue. The Williamsburgh Savings Bank Tower is prominent in the first view, but nearly completely obscured in the second—the top of tower just visible. The three trees survive, which is a good thing.
