It’s not shocking that Vogt knew in in the 1940s that our survival on this planet depends on the hydrologic cycle. With the latest fires to the Amazon being a destructive blow that we’ll see in the future to come in the near future to come. In addition the human race needs to look at its mass farming and ranching production. It’s time to think local and screw global! The book is title “Road to Survival” by William Vogt & was published in 1948. The introduction is by non-other then Bernard M. Baruch who I have enjoyed reading, but have some mixed opinions of his influence. The current book I’ve been reading was a recommendation from a resident at work. It’s a blessing & strange when to can converse with someone for about 15 minutes & they see your in another state of mind & can give you a piece of your inquiry puzzle. The book is title “Road to Survival” by William Vogt & was published in 1948. The introduction is by non-other then Bernard M. Baruch who I have enjoyed reading, but have some mixed opinions of his influence with the establishment of the WIB. I. Just the first two chapters Vogt gives a prediction from 1948 that our political leaders are failing & ignoring man’s physical impact on the environment. Vogt states “We Be Of One Blood” & as a human race we all live in one world. Vogt gives a us a bio-equation for this interaction that the carrying capacity is the product of the ratio between the environment’s biotic potential & the environment’s resistance. Vogt ends on this chapter with a prediction that at least THREE-QUARTERS of the human race will be wiped out.
