I imagine Nico didn't really play with a lot of toys besides the mythomagic cards as a kid. So when Will decides to give him a stuffed toy/animal or a little plush keychain for his bday (probably as a joke and has a different gift that he thought Nico would actually like) Nico adored it. So now Will likes to randomly gift him little trinkets that he finds.
