Gregory walked in for the interview for the office assistant position. From the post online, the pay sounded good. As for the duties, they would be made aware at the interview. He wondered what all he would be required to do.
"Have a seat." Mr. Ander Valeon motioned for the job prospect to have a seat.
"Thank you, Mr. Valeon," Gregory sat down across from him at his desk.
"So you are interested in the office assistant position. Let me see your resume." He spoke as he received Gregory's resume in his hand. He looked over it and saw all the work history he had in office work. All sounded good, but the office assistant position he was offering was way simpler.
"Your resume looks quite impressive, Ander said as he placed it on his desk. "The position I am offering will be more of an assistant to me actually, sort of on a personal level." He added.
"What exactly will I be doing for you, Mr. Valeon?" Gregory asked, feeling curious as to what he wanted that was on a personal level.
"First, answer one question for me. How do you feel about feet?" Ander asked, with a raised eyebrow.
Gregory was curious as to what that had to do with the job. "What do you mean?"
"What do you think about feet? Tell me how you feel about them." Ander clarified his inquisition of the previous question.
"Honestly, I don't mind feet at all. It doesn't bother me." Gregory said, still wondering what feet have to do with the job in question.
"If you are interested in the position, I can give you a trial run. If you seem suited, the job is yours. What do you say?" Ander proposed, waiting for his response.
Gregory didn't mind the opportunity. "Sure, when do I start?" He asked enthusiastically.
"How about now, if you don't mind?" Ander said, taking out his phone and setting up the app. He saw Gregory nodding. He pointed the phone camera at Gregory and hit the flash option. He got up and walked around his desk. There was a perfect footstool to put under his desk to rest his feet on. He moved the footstool under his desk. He took off his socks and shoes and rested his bare feet on his new office footstool.
"The office assistant position is to be under my desk as my personal footstool. Since you got here early today, you will spend the entire day under my desk under my feet. If I approve, then the job is yours." Ander spoke as he focused back on his computer. He dug his heels into his footstool. It was still a comfortable footstool. He decided to give the guy the full treatment if he takes the job.
Gregory wasn't expecting this. This was the reason he was asked what he felt about feet. Mr. Valeon's feet had a small odor, but it wasn't too bad. It was just the fact that he was being treated like a piece of furniture rather than a person, while he worked above him. Soon, he saw him take his feet off, only to feel that Mr. Valeon had put his socks and shoes back on. He heard others coming in and chatting with him. His guest were completely obilvious of the fact that the footstool was an actual person.
Gregory watched throughout the day as others came and went in Mr. Valeon's office completely unaware of the human-transformed footstool. Towards the end of the afternoon, after all his meetings were done, Mr. Valeon took his shoes and socks off again, resting his bare feet on him with ease. He was literally treated like a piece of furniture in his office and nothing more.
Ander finished up his work for the day. He pushed out his footstool and hit the revert option. He watched as his footstool once again became human. "How was it? I have to say, you were very comfortable to rest my feet on." He smiled.
"Is this what the position of office assistant really is?" Gregory asked, wondering. He saw Mr. Valeon nodding.
"And an extra bonus is added on one condition." Ander included in the position being offered.
"What is the condition?" Gregory asked, curious to see what else he would have to do.
"You will have to serve as my personal shoes at times. My feet hurt during long meetings. So having human-transformed shoes will help my feet." Ander smiled back. "All in included in the pay you will receive. So will you take the job?" He waited for Gregory's response.
Gregory thought about it for a moment. That was just one day. He was treated like a piece of furniture the most of the day. The thought of that being every day every week sounds a bit rough. Also being shoes wasn't a pleasant idea either. Yet, he would be paid almost six figures just to be this guy's footrest and shoes at work. Definitely would be easy money.
"I will take the job, Mr. Valeon." He said, thinking all about the money he would make. Even though he would be an object the entire day, the money would be worth it.
"Call me Ander, then." Ander stood up to shake Gregory's hand. "You will become very close to my feet for a very long time."
