Decided to refine my Kitsune Etho design and come up with some little headcanons for him alongside my little doodles.

I didn’t expect to like this concept as much as I do. It’s fun to make silly red stone man a fox!

Headcanons under the cut!

-Kitsune’s are shapeshifters, and Etho is no exception, but he doesn’t shape shift into other beings often. He mostly just sticks on the spectrum of human to fox.

-No matter what form he is in, his scarred eye cannot change. It is damaged and he isn’t able to make it shift with his form (he can make the scar go away though).

-His kitsune form is bigger than an average fox.

-He has some form of pyrokinesis (can make fire) but is very out of practice with it. He can create small flames, and he mostly uses it to light torches. He’s found this very useful with red stone.

-Tucks himself in his tails because why wouldn’t he?

-Lets other people tuck under his tails, but not everyone.

-He mostly only has one tail when he’s outside his home. While he prefers to have them all out, they do take up a lot of space, which he is VERY aware of. He lets loose when inside his house or in more open and private areas.

That’s all I got until I think up some more! Really basic ones right now but I plan to try and do more! (Don’t hold me too it though-)

Some quick concept sketches for the Watcher!Grian design in this

I did these after an initial sketch and didn't like the first result. So I went back and did a more "complete" design. Some things still changed in the final draft but this was my rough idea.

Brain dump below

At first, I based his design on a Palawan Peacock. When looking into references I found this species and thought it could be interesting as a base. I ended up going back on it as I didn't like the more symmetrical look for Grian specifically.

Smaller wings! Peacocks don't really fly- They're obviously capable of flying. They just choose not to. He hooks his claws over his shoulders and tucks them against his back when he isn't using them.

(I kinda seeing him move the same way Shen did in Kung Fu Panda)

He does have a tail under the display feathers.

His display feathers are actually blank. They get the Watcher eyes when he's doing Watcher things. This might change in the future, but I loved the concept.

I wanted to give him a blindfold. It was blank at first, but I put the symbol on after. I like it better, even if it feels a bit on the nose for me.

My original color scheme was in the more purple/golds or purple/silvers direction, but then I remembered rose gold exists, and thought it would look better in the final palette.
