the  sentiment  of  victory  tastes  sweeter  than  anything  else;    it  invokes  a  certain  animation  from  her,   a  loosening  of  her  normal  severity.    so  she  does  take  up  his  offer  for  a  drink  following  the  successful  mission,   and  now,   as  they  sit  flush  side  by  side  at  the  bar  whose  patrons  were  slowly  dwindling  down,    she  feels  her  chest  tightening  with  anxiousness  of  anticipation.    she  turns  her  head  just  so,   cerulean  gaze  which  has  now  considerably  softened  around  the  edges  glues  itself  on  him.   her  fingers  are  tightly  curled  around  her  now  empty  glass;   she  waits  for  @willowbent​‘s  inevitable  words,   the  gentle  hand  on  her  flattened  forearm.

despite  the  fact  that  she’d  been  waiting  to  hear  those  words  all  night  long,   her  heart  still  catches  in  her  chest         ──        a  skipped  beat;   like  the  sheer  shock  of  reality  unfolding  had  stricken  her.    her  gaze  has  already  answered  for  her:    yes,   i’ll  stay  with  you  tonight.   take  me  home.    but  there  comes  the  voice  of  reason.    ‟   sir,   we’ve  had  a  lot  to  drink    .  .  .     ”        she  swallows  hard.      ‟   i  don’t  know  if  it  would  be  the  best  idea.   ”      then  why  was  she  drifting  dangerously  close  now,   face  merely  hovering  inches  from  jack’s.

ACT  I        ──         TIME:    10:24 PM.       LOCATION:     YASEMIN’S  APARTMENT.       DISPOSITION:       WEARISOME,   FATIGUED,   DRAMATIC.        ACT  II         ──          REGARDING:     PLOTTED  STARTER.          STATUS:    ACCEPTING.

the  precipice  of  action    .  .  .    how  easily  it  feels  like  a  sinking  venom,   burning  down  her  throat  and  into  the  pit  of  her  stomach.     god,    the  temptation  to  slink  back  into  her  bedroom  and  lock  the  door  behind  her  creeped  into  her  stream  of  thoughts      ──      but  she  was  a  realist;    she  knew  how  this  would  go.    but  she  won’t  go  down  without  a  fight!    she  never  did.       ‟   oh  come  on  pen,   ”        the  sigh  of  a  great  tempest,    heavily  touching  down  to  the  fragile  earth.    she  peers  onwards  at  the  impeccably  dressed  @willowbent​  before  her  and  then,    just  as  swiftly,   to  her  own  attire:    a  paint  -  stained  t - shirt  and  shorts.    she  supposes  it  could  be  worse.

          ‟   i’ve  had  such  a  long  week,   i  really  don’t  feel  like  going  out  and  listening  to  all  that      ──      unce,  unce,  unce,  unce.   ”       there  she  goes,   bobbing  her  head  as  elegantly  as  a  stumbling  chicken.

ACT  I        ──         TIME:    10:46  PM.       LOCATION:     YASEMIN’S  APARTMENT,   ON  THE  COUCH.       DISPOSITION:       LONGING,   APPREHENSIVE,   CONFLICTED.        ACT  II         ──          REGARDING:     OLD  MEME.       STATUS:   NOT  ACCEPTING.

there  is  something  so  tender  about  watching  someone  sleep.    the  gentle  rise  and  fall  of  chest,   the  way  lines  of  face  furrow  and  disappear  like  a  wading  bay,   the  comfort  one  must  possess  to  be  such  vulnerable  state.   she  doesn’t  mean  to  sit  there  watching  him,   but  the  subdued  snores  flitting  from  his  half  -  open  mouth  have  somewhat  distracted  her  from  the  documentary  still  flashing  across  her  television  screen.   a  tender  smile,   soft  in  demeanour  and  nearly  hidden  in  the  pink  flesh,    is  one  @willowbent​  often  drew  from  her.    and  when  colt  rouses  from  sleep,   slowly  and  steadily,   she  has  a  few  moments  to  draw  her  gaze  back  to  the  television;   casually,   in  a  not  so  panicked  way  that  would  alarm  him  to  what  she’d  just  been  doing  seconds  ago.

‟    just  for  twenty  minutes  or  so.   i  warned  you  that  you  might  find  this  boring  but  you  did  insist!    ”       she’s  already  holding  up  her  hands  in  defeat,   creating  defences  for  her  perhaps  boring  choice      ──       but  it  was  her  rightful  turn  to  choose!      ‟   um,   if  you  want  you  could  just  stay  over  if  you’re  too  tired  to  drive  home.   i  wouldn’t  want  you  to  be  falling  asleep  at  the  wheel.   ”      try  to  not  sound  so  hopeful,   yas.

captain   feels   laughter   leaving   his   throat   but   it's   short-lived   .   shoulders   jumping   just   for   a   second   before   he   slowly   nods   his   head   .   "   wow   ,   i   mean   ...   i   sure   have   heard   the   opposite   of   compliments   before   but   that's   a   new   one   .   "   though   ,   he's   hardly   bothered   by   it   ,   smiles   it   off   .   like   he   always   does   .   because   he's   steve   rogers   and   even   on   his   worst   days   he's   going   to   be   the   best   that   he   can   .   "   i   guess   i'm   just   human   after   all   but   be   assured   ,   it's   all   good   .   i'm   fine   .   "   always   fine   .   always   good   .   always   easier   to   smile   the   things   away   than   to   worry   anyone   around   him   with   the   thought   that   the   captain   might   buckle   .

                    muse :  chrysafenios .

chrysafenios’  steps  are  quiet ,  across  hallways  of  babylon .  he  takes  his  time  to  gaze  in  rio’s  direction ,  from  a  distance .  he’s  lucky  ajak  hasn’t  caught  him  yet ,  the  admiration  in  brown  eyes ,  the  foolish  smiles  characteristic  of  their  early  stages .  call  it  love ,  infatuation ,  he  doesn’t  care  what  he  feels .  all  he  knows ,  his  heart  is  at  peace   he  walks  up  behind  her ,  copper  &  lavender  glimmering  in  the  sun  as  his  head  creeps  over  her  shoulder .  chrysafenios’  hands  slide  from  her  shoulders  down  until  fingers  are  interlocked  &  guided  upwards :  their  joined  powers  making  plants  &  golden  weaves  bloom  in  front  of  them .  he  presses  a  kiss  to  the  side  of  her  head .
