Big. Biiiiig alterhuman related rant.

I may have been in a mood- take with a grain of salt I mean it all with best intentions

Mmm hate saying hot take but I wish therians/alterhumans wouldn’t make only therian/alterhuman centered content channels, mainly for the sake of misinformation, safety, and community conservation

It’s okay to enjoy things like quads and gear and it’s okay to share your creations or skills with others in the community, but as the years go by a bigger target is growing on our backs due to misinformation and media exposure

No I’m not saying we should just stay closeted and not put ourselves out there online, but there was something nicer being able to explain to someone yourself what a therian is, now we are making our way into the news and get bad impressions off the bat. That we need help, that we’re cringe, or god dammit a kink or beastiality.

Yes the world hates anything deemed out of the norm by their standards, furries have had enemies for ages and will continue to, but therians haven’t been in the spotlight this much before.

It’s just honestly quite scary, before media I myself and other nonhumans (some my friends and some I’ve seen posting) have expressed how they actually used to express themselves MORE in public before the TikTok’s, before the masks, and before the quad videos were more known. You could get compliments on your tail, go to a ren faire and be perceived as an awesome cosplay, or just wear out damn symbols with pride and no one knew what it was. I fear that even the theta delta with time (though it’s always been known and not Therian exclusive) is evening becoming recognizable on the street.

Again, we can enjoy those things, and we have before they were “trendy”. Non alterhumans can enjoy those things AND kids can enjoy those things and I think a big issue is that this misinformation that spreads is taking imagination away from youngers (whether alterhuman or not) who just want to express themselves in a harmless manner. Whether that be vocals, tails, masks, etc. We are all dawning gear/accessories and just having fun with our creativity and imagination in that case.

The internet never gets nicer over the years and no community is ever safe, I think we all know this, but it would be insane not to notice the rise in Alterhuman hate or hell just overall acknowledgement. “Do you think they’re those people who think they’re animals?” Is a sentence I’ve heard uttered in my own town when seeing two kids running on fours at a school playground.

We have parents now concerned for their kids because thier first impressions aren’t even always from the the actual alterhuman creators themeselves. Its compilations, people reacting, false news, misinforming voice overs, and more.

I’m sorry but it’s so bad that KIDS like in ELEMENTARY SCHOOL pretending to be animals (whether saying they’re alterhumans or not) are now scolded for “believing they’re animals”. They are PRETENDING. I know damn well I made masks and wore tails before I had access to even my first tablet.

This is not safe, this is not normal, this is not okay and I miss when we found eachother by googling why we felt certain ways. By connecting over why we felt not human. By finding a term and going down a rabbit hole.

Am I grateful that social media has enabled nonhumans to find one another more easily and enable others to access information about the community? Yes!! Am I grateful we’re able to share our forms of expression, terms, genders, and ways we feel and experience our alterhumanity? YES!! Am I still concerned as fuck how this much exposure is going to affect us and the future of how we’re able to express ourselves? Also yes!!

I’m going to shut up now but this has been bothering me for some time. I’ve always admired the community’s creativity and content, but it’s okay to just enjoy these creative things without being a therian. It’s okay to enjoy it if you are one AND it’s okay if you DONT wear gear or do quads if you are a part of the community!! That’s not the identity, that’s not the label, it’s not some box to be ticked to qualify as one.

You CAN enjoy them if or if not an alterhuman, but I can’t lie it’s a sinking feeling when I see videos of “I used to be a therian” “I had a cringey therian phase” “i miss the therian masks trending” We’re not tend. You had furry phase maybe or hey perhaps you were misinformed and are figuring yourself out, props to ya! But making masks was a creative hobby, quads was a hobby, were you IDENTIFYING as an ANIMAL?

Ugh, sorry if anything sounds rude, I don’t truly want nonhuma content to just stop, I just want our community safe and out of the eyes of the closed minded.

So I’ve gotten a few asks on my beliefs when it come to reincarnation! I’ve been kinda vague on exactly what my said beliefs are but that’s what I’m posting right now! TW for mentions of death, animals remains, decomposition. Lemme try and explain this the best I can, sorry, it’s quite long-

Okay, so, when things die, they eventually decompose if I’m an environment that allows it to do so properly. And when it does so, it feeds not only the earth and its land, but the plants and animals connected to it. A body can become rich soil, which grows grass, which deer eat, which wolves eat, then when wolves die the process repeats. Quite literally the circle of life, we all provide nutrients and sustenance for other species.

Now you could stop there. Or you could look into other connected things, like water. Water is one of if not the most important things when it comes to making and keeping organisms alive. Animals and plant alike drink it and use it for energy, not to mention the microorganisms that live in water itself. It the other things that connects us all, much like the circle of life/food chain if you will.

(Warning this next part may be gross to think about for some) As a wise snowman once said:

”Did you know that water has memory? True fact. It’s disputed by many, but it’s true.” Olaf has got a point! After watching this movie I honestly started looking into this theory and it makes some sense. Water has passed through multiple being before us, getting recycled through plumbing, soaking into the soil, or being evaporated and entering the water cycle to become rain. This concept plus the cycle of bodies sustaining other bodies lead me to this this idea:

When we die, our body serves the life around us. Whether you decompose, get cremated, etc. a part of you is still in the world. Your atoms are still existing, just being used in other things now. You can look at reincarnation like that, if knowing death isn’t the end in a sense of use. But. You add water has memory to the concept and you can think of something even more beautiful. I don’t know how such a thing can exactly work, but the thought of a dead creature’s water, joining the cycle, could mean that there’s a chance that their water from their body holds their memories, and possibly may hold their consciousness.

It’s crazy to think about, and it’s understandable if it seems impossible, but for me, this concept has given me peace of mind. The idea that maybe these nonhuman experiences I feel, think of, and do have a source. And that source is from creatures before me, and their atoms and memories and such else somehow found me. And became a part of me.

And I think that’s beautiful, and strange, and self affirming. This is why I collect parts of animals. Bones, fur, pelts, teeth. I feel that even if they may not be physically alive, they are still there. And that giving their remains a sense of appreciation. A way of saying “thank you, for the existing on the same planet as me”

There’s still more thoughts and details and science I look into behind the idea of consciousness, water, atoms, etc. and not to mention other factors I think about, but I hope this summarizes the main idea of what I believe in.

It would amazing, to know I’m not alone in believing even just a little in this concept I’ve connected and gathered, or at least to understand where I’m coming from, you know? Thank you to those who’ve asked me about my thoughts on reincarnation, this long ass post is for you lol ♡

It’s 2:00am so random rant time for Willow-

I realize now. That a lot of things that id want in a relationship. Do not fit the norm. Specifically how I want my own bed and possibly bedroom from my partner- and here’s why!

For my personally, I like knowing I have a space of my own that’s just mine. An area I can decorate, control how it smells, and just feel comfortable in. Not to mention cuddling and napping with a partner can be really nice but I have a lot of things I like to have when I sleep that others may not like. I’m talking fan on face, certain nature sounds, being against a wall, millions of blankets, etc.

And this way I feel my partner could have their own space to decorate and make their own! Plus if we ever did want to sleep a night in the same bed, it’s like a sleep over lol! Imagine grabbing your blankets and favorite stuffies to go sleep in your partner’s room, I think that would be very fun.

I dunno, sounds ideal for me lol 🤷‍♀️
