The otherhearted community needs to be more known.

There are a lot of people who feel a connection to an animal without identifying as it and still use the label “therian” on themselves bc of misinformation (ending up spreading even more).

I’ve recently saw a post on Pinterest about the differences between a furry, a therian and an otherpaw and it was clearly saying that therians identify as animals. However, the comment section was full of comments like “I’m a therian, but I don’t identify as an animal, I just feel a connection to it”.

Because everyone it’s always “differences between a furry, a therian, an otherpaw and a clinical lycan/zoanthrope” and I don’t often see otherhearted among these ones, which is not good.

I think the otherhearted experience is more common than the therian one and so it needs to be recognised, so people can find the right label for themselves.

Last but not least, the term “therian” will eventually stop to be constantly watered down to a “connection”.

psst,, there’s a mod called betterflight that allows you to flap elytra at the cost of hunger, it depends on what version of Minecraft it’s gonna be but it might be a good addition :]

Minecrafter Alterhumans and Nonhumans!!

Consider this my official interest data collection post to determine if I should move forward with possibly hosting an Alterhuman aimed modded Java (possibly bedrock in future) Minecraft server!

It would be survival but with the help of added mods and the creative minds of others, I believe it could be a really fun and active social space!

My main goal? Biodiversity! Letting players have access to as many species, creatures, and their natural habitats as possible- including more endangered and lesser known ones! While we can't be exact to everyone's preferences when it comes to morphing into creatures, we hope to provide Origins as well so those who maybe want to have their own skin/remain humanoid can still part take in the nonhuman abilities!

^This would help you vampires, werewolves, fairies, and other humanoid creatures out there!

Below are but a sliver of some of the mobs that are planned to be added! I've highlighted some of our more unique ones! (Pine marten, white fruit bat, frilled shark, orca, maned wolf, stag beetle, mantis shrimp, and chupacabra!)

I'm still looking into how to run it, if I'd hae to start off with a small group at first, and how much a port would be if the mods simply can't run well without one. I have a pretty cheap laptop and I'm doing alright! but adding multiplayer is where things get iffy!

So what do you say, are you interested? If it's not for you that's okay! just making sure this is something enough would really like to see! Feel free to hit me up with questions, I may have answers or at least a direction in mind!

Hope you don't mind if I reply here, @shining-meadow , but I'd love for others to get to see and hear this!

As someone who's been a loyal bedrock player since they were 9, I certainly get the switch over to Java is a daunting one in fear of if a laptop can handle it! I'm hoping to keep mods small and not worldbreaking to make sure its playability is more accessible! (also why it'll be on an older version for increased combatability)

Any mod added thus far adds mobs and drop which in turn means new items, but the only "heavy" mod so far is Biomes O' Plenty, and that just changes terrain!

Donations would go towards a membership to aid in the server's player capacity and function, which may allow for more mods! But overall the only mods I wish to ensure are added are more morphable creatures, more player customization, more habitat immersion and general server mods!

As for bugs ands bearsss I most definitely have those! Two of the mods I added actually both had bears, so now there’s a Grizzly Bear and “Brown Bear”! And boy do we have bugs!!

I can’t do specifics here since I’m unsure which ones count as “entities” you can morph into, but there’s;

fireflies, tarantulas, beetles, butterflies, dragonflies, leaf bugs, caterpillars, snails, aaand ants to name a few!
