Title: Hypothetical Summary: Simon is far from stupid, far from oblivious. Therefore, he knows what he sees. And if he’s not mistaken, the prince of Sweden stares at him when he thinks Simon isn’t looking.

Yesterday I rewatched this scene, and it got me thinking (a lot).

Simon says, that Wilhelm has to figure out what he wants and who he is on his own. There is no pressure from Simon, and he respects, that Wilhelm aren't where he is.

The thing is, without Simon, Wilhelm is literally on his own. He has no one else he emotionally connects with.

He has to figure out his inner conflicts and whole life on his own, with no one to talk to. Wilhelm doesn’t have an Ayub or a Rosh, or a mother or sister who asks how he feels.

I can very well imagine Wilhelm having some sort of meltdown in s2, where he almost begs Simon to help him. He doesn't know what to do, and he can't do it on his own. And yes he will have a panic attack and Simon will hug him and say he will always be there for him, and Wilhelm just repeats, almost out of breath, I can’t do it on my own Simon.
