Here comes the official launch date of Windows 8
It has become official now that computers running on the latest Microsoft OS Windows 8 will be rolled out in October 2012. However, no specific date has been provided by the tech giant still it is speculated that it will happen in the last lap of the month.
The announcement about the launch of Windows 8 was made by Microsoft on July 9 (MON) in Toronto. Previously, industry analysts were speculating the Windows 8 launch to be somewhere in the last of the year during the Christmas and holiday season. This was planned to capitalize the business opportunities available during the holiday shopping. The consumers and businesses that are not planning to buy new computers can upgrade their systems by buying Windows 8 upgrade.
With this latest OS users will see applications as mosaic of tiles with the Windows 8 suite. Microsoft has designed the OS in such a way that it can be used for both personal computers as well as touch-based tablet computers.
Microsoft has revealed its plan to roll out tablets running on Windows 8. These tablets will be mainly competing against Apple’s iPad, the most selling tablet worldwide. Consumers are yet to know about the price of the tablet which Microsoft has named as ‘Surface.’ Surface is also expected to be pitched against Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Nexus 7 that is to be rolled out soon by Google.
