“I think I’ve managed well enough for the past couple of years,” she responds to his question, uncaring whether it had been meant rhetorically or not. It didn’t matter to her. Hekima had just been trying to mind her own business and read, but it would seem peace was not destine for her near future. She did manage to shut her book just in time to catch the bokken that is tossed to her without warning.
“Ehhh, we’re not supposed to fight, are we?” Could this even count as training? She blinks owlishly at him, standing from her spot and holding her wooden sword awkwardly. It wasn’t the sort she was trained with and she couldn’t quite get the grip right.
“Do you have a staff, perhaps? I’m not katana trained.”
