Yet—

When Aha arrives, it’s with the faintest sound of elated whispers, of tiny bits of papers floating on laughter, flipping and twisting. For someone as joyous, boastful, and buoyant as Aha, their arrival is always one of little fanfare.

Gepard is writing yet another report when he hears it. It’s not the whispers of confetti that they have become accustomed to waiting for, but the sound of gloved fingers whispering over a latch and a well-oiled window sliding up.

Aeon and man—different, so different, but not when it comes to certain matters.

Qlipoth, at the end of the universe, will never be able to meet Aha where they are, even halfway.

Gepard, in Belobog, realizes that he's never been a part of Sampo's world, and even if he were to, what does he have to offer?

Aha once said that what was considered joy was in the eye of the beholder, much like beauty. Idrila had not liked that one bit, but Aha knew they weren't wrong.

“But I don’t want that.” The other teen blinks at him, pince-nez sliding down her nose.

“Why not?” She kicks him with her steeled-toe boot, watching him bruise. He’s always been soft, unlike her.

“Because where’s the fun in that? What if I want to be Sampo one day, Kafka the next, and then Sampo the day after? Why would I want to just get rid of me?”

“You can’t be Kafka. I’m Kafka.” It’s who she has become, her metamorphosis.

“Yep! You’re Kafka, who can’t feel fear!” He laughs and she finds herself smiling.

“And you’re Sampo, who always laughs.”

“But I want…”

“You want?”

“I don’t know.”

Identities can be shared, they can be individual. They can be complex, then can be simple. They can be one, they can be many.

Kafka never needed another identity once she became Kafka. There was no reason to not be anyone but herself. She just never realized that perhaps it wasn't the same for Sampo.

Summary

Pale shoulders with just a hint of freckles fill his vision, along with long long long blue hair. It falls in waves and curls, bountiful and lush. He thinks he can bury his face in such a mane and be content. Could sink his fingers into soft tresses, run his fingers through over and over. But alas, there’s a soft giggle that reminds him just who the person in his lap is.

“Madam Brughel.” For no other person has the audacity to simply sit in his lap in the middle of broad daylight. And then laugh about it.

“Hehee! This is me, myself, and I! Aha!” Aha’s hands uncup and reach toward Qlipoth, coming to rest on either side of Qlipoth’s center crown. “Is Qlipoth okay?”

“Aha.” It’s slow, but Qlipoth moves their arms so that they can encircle Aha’s waist with their large stone fingers. A large crash is heard when they collide, entrapping Aha’s massive, but lithe, form.

Summary

Giggles fill the dead space as the other Aeon makes themself comfortable on Qlipoth’s finger. Without much thought, Qlipoth puppets the human body towards the other, making sure that his expression is set to anger.

“Qlipoth, don’t be mad at me! I finally have your answer!” More giggles as the other Aeon reaches out to touch the blond strands of the human male. “Hmm, I didn’t take you for wanting to be blond! How funny!”

Qlipoth ignores them. When he speaks, it rumbles the space around them, distorting the stars.

“What?”

“A home! All I want is a home!”

And when Aha looks at them with shining eyes full of love and mirth, Qlipoth realizes they would do anything this Aeon desired.

They didn’t know how to make a home, but they had heard that it all started with four walls.

Or;

An incident has Qlipoth realizing that perhaps a home isn’t always a building with walls.

Or;

Finding Sampo, close to death, leads Gepard—who has never been truly Gepard Landau but the Aeon Qlipoth—to realizing just how blind he’s been.
