Uncomfortable Truth
Have you seen the Internet? It’s full of helpful tips, sage advice and uplifting bullshit.
“If it’s real, fight for it.”
“Don’t expend energy on it, let the universe move it into your life.”
“If it’s worth having it’s worth working for.”
“Let it go, don’t force or chase what’s not meant to be”
I mean really? How the hell does anyone apply this in life?
“Have some dignity, some self respect, don’t text them.”
“Don’t be an asshole, crush that ego and call them, tell them how you feel.”
“Walk away”
“Don’t walk away”
How do you navigate this drivel and stay sane?
“When it’s real, you can’t walk away”
All this advice popping up on our social media dash, telling us how to love, how to live, how to respect ourselves and others, but the truth is the people writing these super relatable quotables are just as fucked up as the rest of us. Don’t buy into any of it. You’re wasting time. No one has the answers to your life, not even you. Figure it the fuck out as you go and stop making your anxiety worse. Or don’t. It’s your call. But don’t put stock in the bullshit, it’s nothing more than an illusion trying to tell you what you want to hear.
