Barolo Wines
Cogno 2011 Barolo Cascina Nuova
Black cherry, plum, leather, camphor, burnt earth and roses inform the bouquet. Full-bodied and fruit-driven with cherry liqueur, licorice and spices. Flesh, tenacity and grip are all Ravera while ripeness and warmth at the back speak to the vintage. Sound structure means no rush to broach this. Not the last word in complexity, just insane value back in the day. Noteworthy in the way of how it juxtaposes with earthier and sassier expressions from outside Barolo. — ★★★½

2014 Intrinsic Cabernet Sauvignon. This inaugural entry from the winery delivers wonderfully strong aromas of black cherry and herbs, over big, ripe, dark fruit and a succulent mouth feel. Firm tannins, solid finish. Pair with spicy dishes, cold autumn nights by the fire, and moody brooding about vampires.

HEY WINE OMENS FANS: just opened this and my GOD is it good. Smooth, juicy berries and something … toasty or oaky? oh good god. Go get it immediately. It’s an Old Vine red blend. Dry as hell and that’s how I like it.
I can’t even. I could drink this entire bottle. shit.
An Accidental Carménère

Six of them, to be precise, from two major Chilean regions, Colchagua Valley and Maipo Valley, for a head-to-head Chilean Cabernet throwdown! (Read all about it here.) As we awaited the shipment, we received an email from the PR Rep coordinating the samples. Seems there was a mix up at one of the…

As you guys know, I'm a wino. 😁😁😁 I wanted to share a new wine I have fallen in love with. It has hints of peach and green apple. It is light and semi-sweet but really crisp. It's so good.
It is called Il Duca Imperiale Peach.
From what I've seen, it ranges in price from 11.99 to 13.99. It could be cheaper in some places.
