Rose: you eat like a bird
Nine: Rose I literally have wings what did you expect
I’ve been remembering a lot of little things about the winged!Nine portion of this life. Here are some of the highlights:
• I greatly enjoyed getting wing scritches • I could be bribed with the promise of wing scritches • Mostly it was Rose who had permission to touch my wings, but Jack eventually earned the privilege too • If Rose was tired, I was a perfectly acceptable pillow and I was not allowed to complain about it (not that I would) • Most of the time I only ate when Rose made me • Sleeping was Bad™ • Sleeping meant nightmares, and waking up disoriented and in the middle of having flashbacks to the Time War • I avoided sleeping until I absolutely couldn’t stand it any more and then I would crash for an hour at a time, usually leaning against one of the corals or in the jumpseat • Have I mentioned the wing scritches? • Most of the time I hid my wings with a biodamper ring or a shimmer device disguised as a wristwatch • I was a lot closer to this Jack then I was to the Jack in the not-winged ‘verse • Me and Rose were a tangled up mess of a qpp relationship and it was fantastic • I don’t exactly know how to classify me and Jack but it was also important and fantastic • I legit thought Jack was dead on Station 5, that’s why I didn’t go back for him. If I’d had any clue he was alive, I would have had no hesitation in going back for him in a heartsbeat • Honestly I think me and Rose were both depressed, just in different ways. I was manic, she was apathetic. I energized her and she calmed me down
So I wasn’t imagining it that ravens “click”!
