Winter!Bucky has really complicated feelings and thoughts about about Steve.
He remembers him a little as skinny!Steve who he has missed very much and more as Captain America, who he has some resentments about.
From this point of view he hates Steve, for for being his friend and therefore making him meaningful to Hydra as leverage against Steve, for letting Hydra take him and never finding him until after they did their work, for making him remember it & for making him see things as they really were, because when he met Steve again he had just given up on hope and the chance of getting away from Hydra. Even after Recovery! Buck will always be a little angry.
And he loves him to the point of obsession. He loves Steve like plants love sunshine, for being some of the only good this world has had to offer, for being so much strength in such a frail package, for being there when Buck finally could come back to himself & for saving everyone from Bucky himself. He loves who Steve was & who he is & who Steve is going to be. He will always want Steve and want Steve to want him.
Because He feels this way he could equally crush Steve’s windpipe while staring him in the eye and cuddle him nude so Winter!Bucky can feel as much of Steve as possible.
He’s thankful for modern music for helping him mange these emotions and urges with art.
