of course you want "communication and honesty" but do you KNOW what that looks like to you??

The type of communication I need is direct and consistent. I don't care what you're doing but if I'm not going to be able to reach you all day, I'd like to know! to me, that's the type of communication i need in a relationship. If something happened yesterday that put you in a weird mood, say you want to talk about it! I listen to you knowing that you'd listen to me with the same respect and understanding. that's what I mean when I say communication is important. but i don't feel that other people have the same level of reasoning for themselves and it's frustrating because we are looking for two different things but using the same name.

Communication on it's own is SO context dependent. Communicating is simply sending a message between a transmitter and a receiver (that's the best way for me to see communication) and obviously the people who say they want "communication and honesty" don't just mean sending a message between one person and the other. They are visualizing what 'good' communication and honesty are to THEM. and this is not a mental image that is consistent between people

but idk maybe im the only one who gets annoyed by this. it's just funny because when people just slap that onto their profile or that's ALL they say when asked what they look for in a healthy relationship it's more of a red flag than a green one to me
