15. Your muse forcing mine to wear an ugly sweater
He could only stare blankly, shaking his head in protest, yet nothing seemed to convince Hakyeon that this sweater wasn’t even an option.
"Jongin-ah… just give up. I told you, it’s not that bad.." The older started, trying to sound as innocent as he could, yet a chuckle spilled past his lips as he threw the sweater to the younger male, pursing lips a bit.
Indeed, the pattern, dotted with cupcakes and stars made the cloth look simply ridiculous in every single meaning of this word, yet Jongin knew he had to obey this time since he had lost their bet before. With a grumble, his eyes narrowed, eyebrows furrowed, he stamped his feet in complaint, putting on the sweater, parting lips in attempt to speak, yet only a gasp escaped his mouth as Hakyeon curled up, collapsing on the floor, bursting into loud laughter, his words stuttered as he was out of breath already, eyeing the red-yellow sweater with eyes full of tears. Jongin could only bit down on his lower lip, trying to stay calm as he flashed a fake grin, blinking at the older.
"Yeah, yeah, I get it… it’s awesome.You’ll be dead"
9. Your muse putting out cookies and milk for Santa
It seemed like some sort of a joke to Jongin, yet it was actually happening. As soon as he went downstairs, he caught a sight of Sehun, skipping from the kitchen to the living room, bending over beside the window, carefully setting something on the window sill.
…milk and cookies.
"You must be kidding me…" Jongin chuckled breathlessly, leaning againt the wall with arms crossed over his chest. His words almost made Sehun jump since he was silent enough not to make any noise, carefully setting himself comfortable on the couch.
The younger sent him a half-hearted glare, shrugging a bit, explaining briefly how cute it is to actually remember about this tradition but he could only roll his eyes, reaching to squeeze Sehun’s cheeks in amusement. “Ah, don’t worry, Sehun-ah. I’ll eat them in a minute and you’ll get your present, is that enough?” He flashed a small smirk, a sound of protest leaving Sehun’s mouth, yet he managed to break into a smile at last.
"You’re horrible, Jongin… ruining my fun. Le me live." Sehun scoffed, pushing the other away with eyes rolling in a playful manner. The older finally gave up, stealing only one cookie, quickly running to his room to avoid getting slapped by the younger, correcting the plate on the window sill. After all, Christmas was this time of the year, when every off habit was considered a tradition..
"A mix of Silent Night and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, hm?"
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas: Our muses attempt to put together what is the perfect Christmas for themselves.
Silent Night: Not a creature was stirring... It's Christmas Eve and everyone is in bed, except for our muses.
"Jongin… I can’t sleep…"
These were the first words Jongin heard in the middle of the night, trying hard to finish his paper work along with few new tattoo designs. Setting the paper aside, he stared back, catching the side of the other rubbing his eyes, pulling the big, red pillow behind. Despite the hour, 3 AM, it still seemed so early, the night was young and none of them felt like going to bed.
"It’s Christmas Day tomorrow, you should take some sleep." The younger muttered as Baekhyun approached his desk, sitting himself comfortable on the armchair, fidgeting a bit only to muff a yawn against his palm. At first, Jongin tried to ignore the male, hoping the older would get bored of just sitting on the side, watching the younger working on the next design, his eyes focused on the piece of paper, fingers holding the pen firmly as he trailed few precise lines, yet nothing along those lines happened.
Instead, Baekhyun was good enough at distracting Jongin, smartly getting his attention after few minutes of tapping with his slender fingers on the desk, crooked smile plastered on the rosy lips.
"Yah, what now, stupid?" Jongin stared with a voice laced with whiny tone only to flash a small, suspicious smile as he narrowed eyes at the older. Those innocent eyes could only lead to some strange game for sure.
"What will we do on Christmas day then, hm?" Baekhyun asked, tilting his head to the side, leaning his head on his palm with finger following the lines on Jongin’s design. "…what would be a perfect idea for Christmas?" He added, letting out a small hum, lips puckered in a small pout.
Jongin couldn’t answer straight-away, getting caught off guard upon the question. What’s perfect… It seemed, like he was too overwhelmed with the commercial atmosphere, his work, unable to simply relax and think of a proper way to spend this year’s Christmas day. With a sigh, he leaned in a bit to the older, staring at him in silence. The younger had been always dreaming of calm, cosy Christmas beside the fireside, no traditions, no rules, neither special preparation, just a calm atmosphere and a company. This was probably something he could consider perfect.”
"Nothing in particular, Baek…" With a small shrug, he quirked up a small smile, chuckle following his words. "I guess it would be cool if I could take a nap before, got some decent sleep… and rest a bit." He responded, having Baekhyun roll his eyes in a small disappointment.
"It doesn’t count. You should have given me some details. Like— gingerbread cookies, milk, presents, lot of food and ice-skating!" Baekhyun hummed in thought, smiling unconsciously. "This would be perfect, don’t you think?" Jongin only snorted, a genuine smile quickly turning into a sly smirk as he joked. "Add yourself in a ribbon and I’m in."
Santa Claus is Comin' to Town: Santa's at the mall and our muses have gotten in line to visit. Who said this was only a holiday for the little kids?!
It was probably the most ridiculous idea Chanyeol has ever got. Jongin wasn’t entirely sure how it happened, yet he ended up staying in line to visit Santa Claus in a mall with Chanyeol beside him, taller than every single kid standing in front of him, his eyes childishly wandering around in a small excitement. The younger wasn’t exactly this pleased with his current situation.
"This is dumb, why am I even here? I’m not 6 anymore, Yeol…" He grumbled, crossing arms over his chest as he rested his forehead against the older’s back, one girl playing a doll, nestling by his side casually, few boys trying out their freshly-bought automatic toy cars. Gorgeous…
"It will be fun, Jongin-ah…" Chanyeol chuckled, shaking the younger slightly causing Jongin to whine in a faint protest. The line was getting longer yet within each minute, they were edging closer to the Santa and the older could only clap his hands, memorizing his Christmas list like it was the matter of live and death, leaving Jongin blinking in shock with lips parted a bit as he rubbed on his temple.
8. Your muse being drunk after all the mistletoe and wine
It probably wasn’t a good idea to provide such a huge amount of wine when Luhan was willing to have fun, his lips stretched out in a wide grin, bright eyes wandering around with fingers curled up around the small glass filled up with red wine.
“Enough, yah—” Jongin whined, shaking his head in protest at the sight of Luhan grasping another bottle of wine, drinking straight from it, taking large gulps, small hum vibrating in his throat. For a brief moment, Jongin actually got scared, concerned in a way, seeing the older stumbling on his feet, before collapsing into his arms.
"I told you… it’s enough, dumbass." He snorted, patting on the male’s head, Luhan practically clinging to him with a soft giggle and he could only whine a bit yet the other’s grip was tight and firm.
"Look, look!" The older started, pointing somewhere above Jongin’s head, his eyes sparly, lips parted in a ‘o’ as he hummed. "Another mistletoe. I’mma get another kiss, now!" He muttered with a childish excitement, tugging on the younger’s hand, curling his fingers around the fabric of Jongin’s shirt.
It seemed hilarious seeing how easily Luhan was loosing control over his own, usually calm and rather mature behaviour. With a small scoff, Jongin broke into a chuckle as the older practically smootched his face with small pecks for nth time that day, easily finding every single piece of mistletoe in the room, always approaching Jongin like a puppy with his stick, waiting for his reward.
4. Your muse asking for help putting up up decorations
”No way, Sehun. I told you it’s too early—” Jongin let out a whine, curling on the bed, sprawling himself over the soft covers as he shook his head.
It was this time of the year when everybody rushed, Sehun wasn’t any different, few Christmas chains thrown around his shoulders and a red glass ball in his hand as he was trying hard to convince Jongin to help him. He was failing miserably. Jongin only took time to take care of Christmas socks, playing with a small bell attached to it, not even wasting time to decorate the Christmas tree. “Too early…” He mumbled from beneath the pillow before yelping in surprise as Sehun pulled on his legs, trying to force him once more. “N-Nooo— let me sleep in peace, we’ll do it tomorrow or— in a week, yah!” A sound of complain, followed by a stream of whines escaped Jongin’s mouth as he held the headboard, not even thinking about abandoning his bed, Sehun groaning in reaction to the older’s stubborness. “Come on, you idiot.” The younger rolled his eyes, shaking his head. “…You’ve slept for hours today, man. Just the mistletoe and few more chains, I promise.”
After 20 minutes of ‘no’s and ‘later’s, Jongin got up, crawling to the couch to grab few more chains, following Sehun to the other room, handing the younger the decorations obediently. After all, he didn’t really want the younger to do it on his own and the sight of colorful lights actually motivated Jongin squeezing a mistletoe between his fingers. He lifted it up above his head before reaching to peck Sehun’s cheek, snickering afterwards. “Boom, first kiss. Done. Crossed out of my list.”
Christmas was the time of light-heartedness, time of sentimental atmosphere and simple peace. To Jongin, also the time of rest withour any worries, time when he could be carefree about everything, mug by mug devouring hot chocolate and flavored tea.
Today, with a box of different chocolates and cookies, he planned to visit Sehun, already approaching the door, greeting it with a knock. Sigh escaped his lips until the younger unlocked the door, offering a crooked smile, yet Jongin’s mouth formed in a “o” and the only thing he was focused on was a horribly ugly snowmen pattern on the white-red sweater. Blinking twice, he looked up at the other, shaking his head.
"What the hell are you wearing?! I—" Jongin yelped in a surprise, not sure whether to laugh or simply remain being shocked and scared for life. It was truly, one of the most awful pieces of clothing he had ever seen.
On the other hand, Sehun only shrugged, explained that his noona gave him this sweater as a gift and he couldn’t refuse, yet Jongin after a short moment only snorted, coming inside before tugging on the fabric of the cloth with a small smirk crossing his lips. “Take it off, now. You look like a loser.”
Putting on the gloves, Jongin hurriedly closed the studio, narrowing eyes a bit as he looked around, finally taking few steps to the left, going home. It’s been late already and the weather unfortunately was getting worse. Worse, as if really cold. He didn’t actually enjoyed the late evenings unless he was wrapped in a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate, on his couch, not in a snow, sneaking between the people rushing, squeezing their newest Christmas presents, ready to be offered to their closest family members. Commercial shit…
With a small sigh, he wrapped his scarf around his neck bit tighter until he reached Baekhyun’s home. Jongin promised to come over for some chocolate and cookies and his stomach was already grumbling, begging to be fed if it made any sense. As soon as he reached the door, he knocked politely, yet there was no sign of the older. Fidgeting a bit, he hesitated, opening the door on his own. Surprisingly… it wasn’t locked.
"Baekhyun?" He mumbled, peeking inside, the silent sound reaching his ears. He quickly locked the door behind, taking off his shoes with hands slipped into his pockets, moving further into the room, some soothing, calming music getting slightly louder as he passed the hall. He could swear it sounded like a piano.
As soon as he stepped into the living room, he caught the sight of the male, his eyebrows furrowed a bit in concentration, fingers pressing the proper keys, the melody really beautiful, Jongin thought. He recognized the song easily, yet what was more surprising than Baekhyun’s great piano skills was his voice. Jongin was never one to compliment others unless they were really good at something and this time, it was indeed a very special performance. He wasn’t prepared to hear the older’s singing so beautifuly, his voice strong, yet mellow at the same time, causing some kind of warmth running through the younger’s body and he couldn’t explain why it seemed that Baekhyun suddenly became even more charming…
The only thing he knew, was that he didn’t want the other male to stop any soon and he simply leaned against the door frame, letting Baekhyun continue without a sound of complaint. Despite the other’s awareness of Jongin being in the same room, the older only smiled to himself, eyes still focused on the sheet, note by note playing another Christmas melody.
