When Storms Calm

Arguing with Bucky never sat right with Liam, their fights were fierce and brutal, their tempers too fearsome to ever do anything but explode and lash out at each other nastily. Words that were not meant had been thrown as thorns to hurt, objects crashed to the floor with a scowl and sarcastic comment. It was what had left Liam sleepless, laying on his side in their shared bed, remaining immobile and keeping his breathing shallow so as to avoid talking to his partner.
Eventually when the bed dipped and Bucky left the room, he rolled on his back, dragging hands through his curls with a heavy sigh. The notion of sleep was far beyond him, and he knew it, so not long after he had thrown off the covers and followed his partner downstairs, offering a weak smile as he accepted the offer mug, soon placing it aside to show his partner that the time for apologies had passed. They knew what they were like, how they riled each other.
“It is done. No more needs to be said,” he murmured, though also felt the relief at having their argument reaching its end. Returning to his mug, he lifted it to his lips, taking a much-needed sip of the tea Bucky had prepared, sighing after and shifting one hand to curl around Bucky’s waist.
