Tips for dressing to a WINTER Concert
this is for all winter concerts, but I'm directing this in places where it's actually COLD ( went to one with about 10 degree weather). .
1) IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE THE COLD, YOU CAN'T....I waited in ten degree weather for 2 hours and usually I handle cold decently so I wore skinny jeans, socks, a scarf, about 5 thin layers of shirts, and a jacket. No. No. No. (I cried and was shaking like mad when I got in because my body hurt and felt paralyzed)
2) NO FUCKING DRESSES/ SKIRTS/ SHORTS ok first off, if you even think about wearing a dress, skirt, shorts or anything with leggings you are kidding yourself. I know everyone wants to look good but it's not worth it, after about 20 minutes I wanted to go home and I couldn't even look up and talk because I didn't want to handle the cold on my face. Don't even try to wear anything that doesn't completely cover and warm you because you can always strip it off later anyways so it's not worth wearing something thin and short.
3) GOOD SHOES/ GLOVES ARE ESSENTIAL your feet and hands are usually the first to react to cold air and will be most sensitive. I'm telling you, you won't live without good shoes. I wore thin high tops and socks and my feet were so cold and frozen I couldn't walk and had to sit down in the bathroom when I went in because it hurt so badly. Every single person was complaining about their feet the whole time, no one could walk. SO, this means wear a shit load amount of socks that are warm and warm shoes. Also hand warmers are good to buy for hands/ feet. And same for gloves just wear extremely warm gloves and double up if you can. If not just make sure you have a good scarf to put your hands in.
4) SERIOUSLY CONSIDER BLANKETS it's not weird at all, the smartest people brought them while everyone sulked in the cold. I would bring one you don't mind getting dirty and when you get in just set it somewhere (sometimes there's lockers and other times you can find empty spots around the place to put it and usually it'll stay there and not get stolen because everyone does it as well, all valuables must stay with you though)
Have fun! And don't let the cold night bring you down because it will completely suck if you aren't warm and I mean this so seriously because it did to me early in the concert.
