Hello all! It’s been a long haul, but here we are at the end of winterleague2016. This post will be concluding my role as mod of this event, but it does not mean that winterleague is no longer open. Anyone who signed up can continue to make posts regarding winterleague for as long as they would like.
I would just like to give a big thank you to everyone who participated, and especially to those who stood by it to the end. I know a lot has happened, and it was difficult to stay committed and interested, so I appreciate everyone who stuck around, even when there was no obligation to do so.
This event was a learning experience, and while I do plan to do more in the future, there are definitely changes that need to be made. Below are a few of the changes I would propose.
a sign up form (not first come, first serve)
review of history (searching for call out posts, etc)
activity requirement
events drafted and prepared in advance
more mod activity
more mods
summaries at the end of each mini event
If you have any suggestions or input, feel free to send them to me, but please be mindful of the way the idea is communicated.
Once again, thanks everyone for participating!! My next event will be a haunted house event! Accepting applications as of right now!
Well, here we are, guys, at the end of the line. This is the last ic day of the winterleague2016 event. Day 7 is all about wrapping up the event, heading home, and all the mayhem that comes with it. Characters are probably exhausted and on edge from their long week of politics, but hopefully holding in.
There is only one seminar taking place, and it is mandatory for everyone to attend. This is the closing ceremony, which runs until noon and includes acknowledgements, speeches and door prizes -- door prizes for everyone (except an unlucky few).
Following the closing ceremonies, everyone will be hurrying back to the hotel for check out, and then shuffled to the air port for their flights, which leave at 3pm.
Crack events for Day 7 include: one of you poor saps got left behind at the air port. Good luck.
👊 – Involuntarily, Maylene flinched at the contact, retracting her hand and staring wide eyed at Roxie for a moment. Taking a deep breath she ran her fingers through her hair, letting out a nervous chuckle. “Heh... Sorry about all this. I should probably get back to my room. I’m sure Korrina is worried sick about me.I haven’t seen her since I got here after all.”
Before the other could say anything, she gathered up her stuff, shoving it into her bag. Without bothering to put her sweater on, she bolted to the door. “Thanks for everything today, Rox!” Wiith a hurried smile cast over her shoulder, Maylene scurried out the door.
woohoo guys, we’re at the last stretch here with only two days left to go. Again, I understand that we’re kind of falling off here, so feel free to pick up a rp from any of the days at any time, or associate your character with any events that took place during the Winterleague. Day six is the day for all you nerd muses out there, so enjoy!
Gym Leader Protocol continues into day 6, once again mandatory for all Gym Leaders and optional for all other members of the League.
The type specialist meetings for this day are the Electric, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, Dark and Fairy(lmao) take place on Day 6, and, again, this is the perfect opportunity to throw in some characters who specialize in the same typing together.
Seminars for the day include history, gym architecture and technology (the latter hosted by Joseph Stone)
After hours there is the League Talent Show, and even more drinking in the hotel lounge.
Crack Events include: cards against humanity night!
Flint sighed, flopping backward onto the hotel room bed. He couldn’t believe how bored he was. Closing his eyes, he groaned again, turning over. Then it hit him: Karaoke. What a great idea! Excited smile on his face, Flint pulled his phone from his pocket.

Given all that’s happened, Day 5 and all subsequent days are having a late start. Like the Day 4 announcement, this will list all events taking place on Day 5 and mark the official start of Day 5 posting, lasting about 3-5 days. I understand that we’re falling behind and dying down by this point, so even if no physical writing takes place, feel free to associate your muse with an event, and thank you for sticking around for this long.
Gym Leader Protocol Continues on Day 5. All Gym Leaders are required to attend, but this event is optional for members of the Elite 4 and Champions.
Also taking place are the meetings for the Bug, Ghost, Steel, Fire, Water and Grass Specialists, all of which are optional, but will be hosted during the day. Again, this is a great opportunity for muses who specialize in the same typing to interact.
Other Seminars taking place during the day are the seminars on breeding, pokefood and pokeathlete, which are hosted by Reggie (NPC).
While the during hour events are less interactive, there are more after hour events, starting with Karaoke with Flint and Volkner (and everyone who invited themselves along), hosted by @passion-ignited and @melancholic-current.
There will be more drinking at the hotel bar, which everyone is free to show up to as desired.
And there will be a girl’s night, hosted by Cynthia, intended to bring the League’s girl’s together. This will be lead by @shironandina
As For Crack Events
Gambling with Grimsley. No one knows what will happen here, but hopefully no one will bet their life savings on anything. This will be lead by @unovas-gambling-elite
And This is Not a Drill! in which, Will, @psychicmasterwill sets his hotel microwave on fire and the entirety of the boy’s floor is forced to evacuate in the middle of the night.
“Screw this crappy dinner, I’m gonna go to a restaurant. Feel free to follow if you want, I don’t give a shit but you’re paying for yourself.” Malva scoffs and leaves the Hotel. Now...what places in Unova had good food and booze?
