A monster I drew for Pathfinder (a table-top roleplaying game).  There's a story of this monster but not a picture so I drew this.  The story (found here) is that a man named Herne Vilhaur was chasing a white stag, which is sacred to the druids of the forest he was hunting in.  He was injured and the druids found him, then hanged him from an oak tree and cursed him with the "curse of the winterthorn" which turned him into a winterthorn, a stag-headed forest avenger.  They planned to use the monster to destroy the crusaders who were hurting the forest.  But instead the monster turned on the druids instead of helping them, killed them, and then killed anyone who entered the forest.  He passed the curse onto others, which are now called "hernes"
