good i had never thought of it that way so im just :0

it's certainly not an original idea by any means but it makes a lot of sense

and i don't mean it in the "haha fandom is my religion and ~tumblr is my church~" way which is how i'm sure some people will take it

i mean it in the "we spend all day telling each other stories about things that don't exist so the real world becomes a little easier to deal with" way 

which is sort of a melancholy thought, because with actual organized religion there's obviously faith and belief, but we are living in a generation that largely puts no stock in faith and belief because no one believes in us. but we still tell each other stories and sometimes we rework the stories so that different people who are more like us can be the heroes.

but then of course we turn on each other over the different ways we want those stories to be told (and i am such a hypocrite because i want the stories i love to go a certain way just like everyone else, like as much as i love to sit here and pick it apart i have also bought into this concept hook line and fuckin sinker)
