"YOU walk into the bookstore and you keep your hand on the door to make sure it doesn’t slam. You smile, embarrassed to be a nice girl, and your nails are bare and your V-neck sweater is beige and it’s impossible to know if you’re wearing a bra but I don’t think that you are. You’re so clean that you’re dirty and you murmur your first word to me —hello— when most people would just pass by, but not you, in your loose pink jeans, a pink spun from Charlotte’s Web and where did you come from?" (1)
Yeah, absolutely not. Not today Satan, not today. You were seething within, staring at the handsome bookstore owner as he pointed you into the right direction for the book you had wanted, God why couldn’t you ever land in a normal universe. “Thank you, Sir.” You plastered a convincing smile onto your lips as you bought the book, walking slowly out of the bookstore, Mooney’s, trying not to fixate the last time you heard that name be used.
—Anything for our Mooney— (2)
You ran to the first secluded area you could find, chucked the book into the Pocket Dimension before gathering yourself to rip open a wormhole, letting yourself be sucked into it, ignoring the discomfort of it, one would think you would be used to it by now with how many times you had gone through it. Anyways there was no way you were about to be stuck with the psycho from ‘You’ when you hadn't even started grieving Friedrich; smart, reliable, and loving Friedrich Harding.
—I cannot resist you, my love— (3)
You felt your heart ache at the thought of him, his lovely curls, beautiful piercing blue eyes, large hands, and comforting hold. A hold you hated to have parted from at the end of that lifetime. Friedrich had been a wonderful experience, a nice change from the usual modern worlds, even if it was a drastic change to get used to Germany in the 1830s.
You had lived wholeheartedly through that particular universe, staying longer than you would in other universes, living out that mortal body you were inhabiting to grow old with Friedrich, to watch your children grow and find themselves partners and family.
It was too soon to be chucked into this universe with a stalker that you were fully aware of that, Joe? Joe Goldberg would have never let you grieve with his antics and shenanigans. You grimaced, remembering the details of how the first book had gone, a dead girl with pages of the Da Vinci Code shoved down her throat, fuck that, you grimaced, wanting to scream over the fuckass worlds you were sent to every time you were grieving or upset.
God, sometimes you just had to admit that you hated your photographic memory, but this was definitely not one of those moments. You sighed, annoyed as you kept drifting and falling through a starry abyss, no exit in sight. There rarely was an exit shown, you would simply have to wait it out until you were expelled from the wormhole’s pathway wherever fate wanted you to land.
A familiar tug settled within your navel as you felt yourself being flung out of one of the wormhole’s spontaneously appearing openings, light blinding you temporarily as you fell on top of a pair of men, knocking them both down and one out, wincing as you watched them hit the ground roughly.
“Fuck-!” You grunted until you caught a glimpse of the men’s face, the sight stealing your breath away and causing you to still, panic bubbling up in your throat, still a bit shaken and delirious from going through the wormhole.
—How is our little Friedrich?— (4)
—It’s a non-zero-sum game.— (5)
“Meine bessere Hälfte?” You gasped out breathlessly as you locked eyes with familiar gorgeous blue eyes. “I-” You pushed off the disgruntled and confused man, watching as the blonde instantly adapted a tense fighting stance as every inch of your being yelled at you to run away from whatever was triggering the distress that was coursing through your veins, to teleport somewhere safe and sound, anywhere but here.
“Who the fuck are y-” The blonde spat out, pointedly avoiding coming near the archer, clearly not together. His eyes narrowed on you, Friedrich's lovely blue eyes, only for him to be startled by the wormhole that opened behind you, yanking you in and pushing him back hard against the tree, hitting the side of his head hard.
⋆。⁺ ₊꩜ 。 * 。⋆ ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
You forced yourself into curbing your emotions as you stared at the blue shiny alien weapon, staring at it before looking away and double checking if it was still there. “Fuck.” You paced around the room, grabbing the sceptre and shoving into the pocket dimension, muttering, “Thanks for doing me a solid, Davie.”
—How come nobody’s ever tried to be a superhero?— (6)
A fond smile stretching onto your lips, remembering the pretty curls and dorky smile Dave used to have, Dave Lizewski, a sweet darling with a love for anything and everything superhero. You were glad you had kept every single comic Dave had ever bought, a pretty superhero themed box in your dimensional space. It was even organised in his favourite order too, with it being series, continuity, then character series and finally single stories.
You resigned yourself to having to read the comics all over again to figure out which universe you were in for the Marvel universes. As you tried to come up with a plan, you saw the back of a first aid box, quietly grabbing it, feeling a tad bit guilty about hurting whoever was wearing Friedrich’s face.
You tugged open a wormhole, ending up where the blonde was groaning while still mostly unconscious as the wormhole tended to be very volatile according to your moods, and with how distressed you had been, it had flung the man back roughly, hitting his head.
You inched closer to the body, instantly noticing the lack of the archer, putting that on the back burner. You settled down next to him to tend to the injury on his head, wincing at the blood, only relaxing once you noticed he had accelerated healing, picking him up, or attempting to, and dragging him towards a cave.
Doing so despite knowing the dangers of helping someone without knowing anything about him just because he had Friedrich’s face, you couldn’t help it, especially since a small part of you wanted to take any and all chances to gaze at your husband’s face for a few quiet moments. Even if he had a terrible dye job in this lifetime. “Such a pretty Darling no matter the world we are in, even with the terrible blonde dye job.”

“So?” Stark prompted as the Avengers and a few SHIELD agents fired questions and grumbles as you stared at him, batting lashes just to annoy him a bit, it didn’t help that he shared a face man you called brother for years, it was a hard habit to curb, wanting to annoy and be difficult for the hell of it.
“My previous body I was in got old and was near death, and since I was the last one in my family in that timeline it was an easy choice to tug open a wormhole and go to the next world.” You said simply as Stark nodded and pinched the bridge of his nose, clear so very done with all the overlapping voices he was hearing in his comms.
“Then you ended here.” He completed the sentence to which you shook your head no, “No, actually, I ended up in a stalker romance book as the stalked secondary protagonist who the main character kills after she tries to escape the glassbox he puts her in under his book store, stuffing her mouth with pages of the Da Vinci Code.” You smiled at him, ignoring the bewildered look that the Maximoffs gave you from the side.
“It’s hard to grieve in a universe while actively trying not to be stalked.” You said honestly, noticing the twitch of his lip at the word grieve, clearly not expecting it, causing a bittersweet emotion to well up in yourself. “I rarely stay in a universe for long, let alone until my temporary body ages to the brink of death.” Letting the rest of them to piece together the fact that the life I shared with Friedrich had been special and worth mourning.
You moved along, not wanting to dwell on the subject of Friedrich and your children. “As for how I knew where I was in this universe was due to seeing the Scepter, I have it in my pocket dimension.” You suppressed a giggle at the scientific gears grinded in Tony’s head. “You can ask me any and all questions you’d like afterwards.” Unable to help yourself from feeling a certain fondness as his nose scrunched up at the thought of waiting.
You pushed on, not caring for how Stark stiffened, clearly alarmed that the Scepter was in my possession, you cut him off before he could even open his mouth to probe and demand it from you. “Trust me, I am doing you and your future a big favour right now.”
“Davie,” You continued, quieting for a second, “Dave from one of the universes I stayed my entire lifetime was a huge superhero nerd, somehow managing to become one despite that world not having any forms of magic, powers, or mutations.” You reminisced quietly, eternally affectionate for Dave’s dorky glasses and curly hair.
—Why do thousands of people wanna be Paris Hilton, and nobody wants to be Spiderman?— (1)
“Dave’s favourite was Spider Man, from this universe.” You gave a knowing look to Stark, aware that he was keeping tabs on the latest Vigilante swinging around in a terrible DIY hero suit. “Captain America was a close second.” You hummed softly, trying to remember the order, “If you can take off the cuffs, I can easily show a few memories of mine, of Davie and I watching and reading the movies slash the comics of your life.”
You observed as Stark made a gesture behind his back, clearly trying to debate his point while standing inside the room unable to speak his point. Tilting your head when he asked if you knew the twins, and if you were working with them to which you had simply replied denying it.
You narrowed your eyes as Stark blatantly looked at you with a glimmer of disbelief as he pressed, “Then what’s the deal with you calling the Roadrunner over there your better half.”
Your teeth grinded as you visibly straightened up, a slightly embarrassed expression settling on your face as you clamped up and went blank faced, “While that is none of your business,” You bit out as the twins' focus doubled on you, evidently interested and wary of you.
“He…” You chewed on your bottom lip, “He looks like Friedrich, my husband.” Turning your gaze away before correcting, “Late Husband,” You rolled your head, needing to fidget and move, pointedly avoiding looking Pietro’s way. “From the world before the stalker one, it was based on Nosferatu, Friedrich Harding, it was jarring to see him young and alive.”
The room went quiet as Stark looked uncomfortable with the concept of emotions and possibly having to comfort you, so instead he clapped his hands turned fully towards the twins, making you snort as he added, “I’ll get you situated in another in the meantime.”
⋆。⁺ ₊꩜ 。 * 。⋆ ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
You stared at the twins, who stared back since you were still in the same holding cell, simply because Stark was utterly tired after the attempt at interrogating the Maximoffs. You tried to smile, awkward as the holding cell was quiet and all three of you were still hand cuffed and tied to the chairs.
“What was his name?” Pietro asked, breaking the suffocating silence, taking you aback even though you suppose you should have expected him to ask you questions. “Friedrich,” You started, a gentle smile tugging onto your lips as your entire demeanour softened at the thought of your late husband.
—Speak none of this to Ellen, or my Wife, but we have another on the way— (2)
“I am unsure how much you know of Nosferatu, but it is the story of Dracula.” You explained, starting off with the easier details, “Friedrich and I met through our parents, he was a few years older than me and a friend of my brother’s.”
“He was such a proper gentleman until you got to know him, then it was all childishness, gentleness, and genuine care. He was a merchant, or well look after his family business regarding ships, so he was always bringing gifts, excotic ones for the time period, the 1800s.” You chuckled softly, “We wed years later, and had three children.”
Your expression faltered suddenly, “I would show you pictures but my hands are tied,” A lopsided smile before you spoke again, “Our eldest, Clara, then Louise, and our youngest and only son, Rolf.”
You paused at the intense look Pietro was giving you when Wanda asked out of curiosity, “You are so pretty, how could you marry anyone with this oaf’s face?” It made you giggle just as Pietro spluttered and protested against his sister’s words, clearly an old routine between the two of them.
“Friedrich has his hair a bit longer and natural.” You gave your best poker face before cracking up in a soft chuckle, sighing softly, “He had the loveliest of chocolate coloured curls, and the most stunning blue eyes that all three of our children inherited from him.”
The twins quieted at your words, clearly unsure what to say to that, the silence grated on your nerves, making you overshare. “Davie looked like him too, so did Sergei, who was from another version of this universe, and Tom.” You squinted as you mentally recalled all of your lovers that looked like Pietro, “And Alexei, Tangerine, his actual name was Lucille, both James, and Ford, Ben, Joe, Isaac, Ray, Archie, and Jamie.” You blinked at their speechless expressions, “huh, there have been a lot of you.”

It took roughly thirty minutes to tend to the blond man, but you finished up and covered him with a duplicate of a thick fur pelt blanket over him. It was a copy of one of your favourites, large and warm in an ivory white colour, the fur of an alien you had hunted lifetimes ago with a fellow warrior as practice for your Chiva.
—Keep it together. Make it to the surface.— (1)
⋆。⁺ ₊꩜ 。 * 。⋆ ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
You were raiding for resources in the Hydra building for anything useful, having left the first aid kit with the blonde man when you felt your skin prickle with gooseflesh, but you were a second too late as you felt a shift in your gravity and were shoved hard against the wall with a groan.
A red hazy cloud wrapping around your wrists, pinning you firmly to the cold surface. “Where is he!?” An accented voice screeched furiously as she tried to pry into your memories and mind to find what she was looking for. “Where is my brother!?”
You gasped as your hair was pulled, yanking your head back you were face to face with a redhead. “I have no idea who you’re talking about.” You gritted out, twitching to overpower her any manner you could think of, but not wanting to leave any supernatural powers on record with the numerous cameras fitted in the room.
“If you mean the blonde with the terrible dye job, I left him in a cave with a first aid kit.” You tensed up further as she hissed something in Sokovian, vaguely sounding like a mix of Romanian and Russian. “...Was he taken?” You couldn’t help but ask, feeling a twinge of guilt, it was technically your fault, “If I give a co-ordinate, would you refrain from doing anything but taking him back?”
You watched as she struggled with an internal battle of anger, desperation, and a deep seated worry for her brother. “Yes- Yes!” She caved in, but not before pushing you further into the wall in frustration.
You took a sigh of relief when she left to chase down one of the numerous fortified jeeps and tanks. Knowing you needed to leave as soon as possible, squeaking when the same hazy red cloud suddenly wrapped around your ankles, yanking you out of the building through an open window whilst screaming.
“Fucking Bit-!”
You grunted as your back hit a hard metal wall, knocking you out as red haze clouded your vision and loud voices overlapping as your mind went quiet.
⋆。⁺ ₊꩜ 。 * 。⋆ ✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧
You were glaring at the cuffs around your wrists and legs, tied to an uncomfortable chair, sighing as you were very aware of the fact that if you wanted to you could simply break out of here with minimal effort. Yet neither did you want to cause more interruptions than needed so you shifted your target to the siblings that quite literally dragged you here.
“You could help yourself, could you?” You sneered at the redhead, annoyed to high heavens as she returned the expression, matching your furious stare with her own, but she didn’t speak as her blonde brother was gritting his teeth and fidgeting. The two of them cuffed similarly to yourself. “Why do I bother?” You mumbled, sighing as you slumped into the hard chair. “At least tell me your names.”
It would be a good starting point as any to figure what version of the Marvel world you were stuck in, seeing that there were so many dimensions and team ups throughout the different types of media.
You rolled your eyes at swearing in the weird mix of Romanian and Russian, sighing as you looked at them, cursing yourself for not realising their identities earlier. Red haze, magic, and relative super strength, Scarlet Witch, aka Wanda Maximoff.
You looked at Wanda’s brother, Peter or Pietro Maximoff, that you needed to confirm, since it was clearly not the movie versions of the X-Men, seeing that they were close in age, if not twins like most of the comics.
“I don’t have a terrible dye job.” Both you and Wanda turned to look at the bottle blonde, causing you to stiffen as your last words to him register, just as Wanda somehow managed to use her cuffed legs to kick his legs. “Taci, Pietro!” She hissed at her brother, Pietro, in a low tone to quiet him, clearly frustrated with the situation while he stilled himself to focus on you.
You suddenly hated the fact that he shared Friedrich’s face, unable to stand the cold untrusting stare, feeling a pit of unease bloomed in your stomach. Watching as his lovely lips parted to speak again, “You said something about me looking…” Pietro’s face twitched as if he was trying to recall a certain detail. “The same,” He settled on as his gaze narrowed on you, “No matter what world you were in, what on Earth do you fucking mean by that?”
You bit the inside of your cheek looking away, clearly tense and uncomfortable, “I have no idea what you are talking about.” Curt and sharp as he growled at your answer, wanting to intimidate but unable to due to the cuffs and restraints. “I have never met you before.” A blatant truth even if it sounded like you were lying through your teeth.
You were about to throw caution to the wind and escape as a dull pressure started to probe the back of your head, stealing your breath.
—Come on! I need to learn it so I can prank Snivellus better!— (2)
“I do not appreciate having my mind probed in a flimsy attempt to have my mind read.” You bite out, hackles raised as you gave Wanda a withering stare, but just when you were about to tug open another wormhole to leave, the doors opened and a man strutted in that had the Maximoffs sneering with hate.
—Sherlock, Sherlock Holmes.— (3)
“Stark.” Pietro gritted out, physically moving as much as he could whilst bound to shift in front of Wanda, protectively. You chewed on your bottom lip before easily slipping into a calm facade, focusing on the man, Tony Stark, sharing the face of your brother from many life times ago. Mentally crossing out the marvel universes where he didn’t exist or wasn’t the main focus on.
Stark ignored them before stopping in front of you, “Well, Wrecking Ball, what’s your name since you’re so curious.” You’re nose scrunched up at the nickname and the reference, slightly offended. “Did you just fucking quote Miley Cyrus to me?”
You were not amused to see Stark’s lips twitch into a smile, “So officially less than fifty percent of a chance that you’re an alien.” It was hard to resist and you kicked him in the shins with your cuffed legs. “I am not an alien, nor a threat, also,” You resigned yourself to staying in the cell as the smarter and safer option for your future peace. “Weird question, what year is it?”
You couldn’t help but feel a smidge vindicated at the groan Stark let out as he grumbled, “Not another one!” Watching as he gestured for the one way screen in the room to turn two ways, causing both you and the Maximoffs to tense up.
“Oops? If it helps, I didn’t time travel, think of universe hopping, many many universes and dimensions.” While it was an easy fix to just escape and go into hiding or even jump another universe, you needed something more distracting, more fun. So, despite the risk, you went with the truth, they had time traveling gods, a warlord alien, even another interdimensional superhero in the near future, they could handle it, or at least you hoped they could as you saw the expressions around you twist into disbelief of varying degrees.
