May we hear about how the pirates fic is doing? 👉👈
The Pirates fic! :D
I handed it over to my husband to read and he said that I've set up a bigger story than the actual arc of the current fic and upon reflection realized that he is correct... It needs a whole lot of thought 😂 and work. I have ideas. I just have to figure out how to make them work. 😅
Last chunk I wrote tho:
Garrus interrupted. "What's that noise?" he asked.
Kaidan turned around to look at him. "What noise?" he asked.
Garrus paused. "That one," he said. "Like… a scratching?"
Kaidan frowned and exchanged a look with Oleg. He slid off his stool and pulled out his pistol.
Garrus' mandibles fluttered as he followed Kaidan's line of thought. He moved into a defensive position. Oleg had no weapons handy and simply removed himself from the room. Kaidan hoped he was dropping by their makeshift armory to arm himself.
He went to the door then. He stood next to it before hitting the button to open it.
They waited.
Nothing happened.
Kaidan shot Garrus a confused look.
And then Garrus looked down.
Kaidan followed his gaze. "Oh," he said.
Oleg finally emerged from a back room with his own pistol. He took in the scene before him. "Oh, hell no," he said. "Alenko. No."
Kaidan looked at him. "We can't just send it back!"
Garrus was still staring. "What is it?" he asked.
Kaidan frowned. "You don't know what a dog is?" His frown deepened. "How did one get on Omega anyway?"
Garrus kept staring. "But what is it?"
"It's an animal from Earth," Oleg said. He set his weapon down on a table and walked over. "Domesticated long, long ago. Working animal or pet, depending on the context, really."
"Maybe some humans brought it here and it ran away," said Kaidan.
Kaidan rolled his eyes. "But we can't just send it away! Look at it! It's… got eyes and… things…" he trailed off as Oleg's glare intensified.
"I thought you had more sense than that, Alenko," Oleg replied with a huff of annoyance. "You obviously can't keep it. Dogs don't belong on the Normandy."
"Oh, I don't know. We had KEI-9 during the war," he pointed out.
Oleg looked deeply unamused.
"It was a mech," Garrus explained helpfully.
Oleg threw up his hands. "Alenko!"
"Look at it, Petrovsky!" Kaidan replied.
"Just think what Shepard will say when you bring it back, Kaidan," Garrus said.
Kaidan's eyes lit up. "She'll love it! She grew up in space, she doesn't know."
Oleg sighed deeply and ran a hand down his face. "On your head be it," he finally said.
Kaidan grinned. "I'm going grocery shopping. We'll need food."
“It's not all right at all ! Smelling his scent on you makes me... even though he's an alpha already bound,” he breathed in deeply, as if trying to regain control of himself, “it's like he's going to take you away from me.”
