Deleting a file from your computer may be the simplest thing to do, but do you know that the file still exists on your computer? When you delete a file, only the reference of the file is removed. It will only be completely erased when another file is written over it. This can be a handy thing if you’ve inadvertently deleted stuff you wished you’d hadn’t because it just might be possible to get it back. But how do we delete something we really want to delete, like when disposing of a hard drive for example?
