❝ i'm tired, ❞ it's out of zelda's mouth before she can even *process it. tired is expressed within the tone of her voice, seeping through the world itself as zelda shrinks into herself, becoming but what she had always been ⸺ a child placed into a mantle she had never *wished for. zelda's shoulders shake with an unnamed myriad of emotions she can't quite *fully process ⸺ she does not have the years nor the stately advisors to process what had left her a mess of herself in the wake of the calamity.
she doesn't disagree ⸺ it is indeed a stupid, stupid way to lead a kingdom as *immortal and *godly as hyrule itself. the legends and foundations of a kingdom such as this would have fallen far and harsh to be dependent on the sacrifices of *children such as herself and link, ❝ it's always been this way ⸺ i don't know if it changes. i don't ⸺ i have trouble believing a goddess such as *she is so great when she makes me *suffer as this. ❞
the revelation feels like zelda is cutting her own tongue out, offering herself up 'pon an alter for the blasphemy that had come from the corners her *soul. zelda shrinks into herself a little bit more at the *anger that builds from within and spills out from herself like a sickness she could never get rid of, ❝ i don't think i want *another girl to go through this. i want ⸺ i want to fix it. ❞ that's better ⸺ it's a lot better than what she wants to say, but she tries to start simple; *small.
