Been back home since Friday afternoon. Been trying to get that rest. So they started out with iv Cephazolin to kill off the Staph Aureus that got started in my lymphedema leg. They then moved to Cephtriaxone and then my potassium took a nosedive indicating another infection was getting going. So, they decided to give me Vancomycin when I told them that I have bad reactions to it. Gave me Red Man Syndrome. Very bad rash, itch, and redness all over my face neck and torso. Needless to say, I was tore up at em for not listening. It was around this time that I rapidly started developing pneumonia. When they saw my inflammatory markers go back up, they stopped the Vanc and started a course of something called Teicoplanin. That seemed to kill the bugs enough to allow me to come home on a course of Clindamycin. Needless to say, these antibiotics really take it out of me. Walking is extra difficult. I'm very weak. Temperature is not stable. Hot and cold with little effort. But the good thing is, I lost a good amount of weight, and, I like the feeling of progress... so I'm gonna keep it up. I just needed to learn some discipline, and want to be self-sacrificing more than self-indulgent, which what I usually did when getting sick. Bit I'm glad to be back home next to Wendy. Two weeks is the longest we've been apart from each other in years. She couldn't make it to visit as much this time, and it showed on both of us. I missed her so much.
